The group says that, according to figures published by the Moroccan government, between 600 and 800 abortions take place every day in the north African kingdom.

"The problem is that only about 200 cases are done properly, by women who have money," said Ms Gomperts, a doctor.

All over the world people are cool with laws for themselves and an elite class that doesn't have to obey them, it's like a universal human trait.

Exactly. I think it's a great idea but as a practical matter, the women who go to the boat will be watched -- prevented from going aboard or punished afterwards.

To me, radical factions such as these are just as abhorrent in their impudence as fundie evengelists. Not here to side with any faction, just here to disagree with methodology. Regardless of your "mission", eliciting indignation and cultural dissent is how wars are made, not long lasting change. If there was a boulder rolling down the hill towards your village, would you stand directly in front of it, or nudge it on the side several times and divert its course. You can grab your child's jaw and force the green mush in its mouth, or you can convince it that the food is good and desirable. Sure, one may take longer, but the effects are longer lasting.

MBooda: Why, thank you. Hey...were you at the Cooter Browns FARK party a month or two ago?

No, I was at a wedding in Lafayette that weekend. I married a Catholic with nine brothers & sisters, and have 32 nephews and nieces. They're popping out grand children now, so my future is regaled to a life of endless weddings, drinking and zydeco music. I did use to frequent Cooter Browns. That was the second New Orleans FARK party I have missed. Genvieve Marie had asked me once, as well. I used to sling whiskey before my career as a night time urban ER trauma RN. It is only four hours between New Orleans and my now permanent home here in Destin-FWB. I also keep an awesome duck-deer camp in the Atchafalya Basin near Morgan City.

MBooda Just found out you live in the home town of the second best pickle on the planet, Mickle's Pickles. He's a great guy, an avid Saints fan, and really does make a delicious pickle. I grew up on the Mississippi gulf coast myself (in Biloxi). Prior to Hurricane Camille, they taught elementary school Spanish and music and were a model school system. At some point Mississippi, and the rest of America went crazy and put education on the back burner.
