Mine are what I call "poisoned apple" color. They're red marbled with green, with gold lettering.

They served me well in my most recent D2 character build- half elf bard with a knife-throwing specialty. We start Monday. I haz an excite.

This. All the "nerdy girl pics" being posted are just adverts and conbooth PR moves to separate basement dwellers from their Dew/Cheeto money. The nerd girls are all on Pintrest and Etsy obsessing over 35-year-old handbags and want nothing to do with guys who aren't Hipster Robert Pattinson In Glasses With A Guitar And A Book OF Poetry They Wrote. That one girl you knew who actually threw D20's back in college outgrew that awkward phase and joined the OMG Shoes/handbag/Newcutecellphone brigade and will deny that they ever really touched a PHB. The bottom line is women don't obsess over the same things guys do and to the extent guys do.

I'm 26, female and married. I met my husband over World of Warcraft and he flirted with me over a D&D game were every monster we killed had a magic item just for me. We're looking to get a regular group together for D&D again while our lives calm down.

Although I still like shopping I have never obsessed over designer labels, shoes, etc. It's just a waste of money to have a gucci bag or 100+ pairs of shoes IMHO. I'd rather watch Warehouse 13 or MST3K than Real Housewives or Friends or a Chick Flick. I also hated the Notebook.

I grew out of that whole screaming "Look at me I'm not like those other girls!" in high school, I'm just me. I like what I like and you can like what you like.

Stop labeling people based on their parts and look at them as individuals.

Untrue, sir. I know more about the Materia system in FF7, the Cthuhlu DM guide, MTG mythic rares, and kicking ass in Assassins Creed than most men I know.

I couldn't care less about Pinterest or handbags or designer anything. I despise hipsters, twilight anything, and don't even have a twitter account.

That said, I'm also not an asexual unwashed miscreant who lives in a basement.

The games that I've DMed at PAX East the last few years have always contained at least one girl, if not more.


Most of the most aggressive tabletop players I know are women, and I still think they make the best DM's.

/Walking through gencon over the years has surprised me every year with the increasing number of EXCELLENT gamers who win some of the hardest competitions... Who just happen to also be gorgeous women.

I agree 100% with the trend toward more women being interested in gaming, and not just for the
eye-candy factor (lets face it: an ugly woman is generally a lot prettier than most male gamers). It
not only brings a different perspective to the hobby, but it also helps dispel certain gender myths
that women are always more kind and nurturing than men. At the table, you're not a man or a woman,
you're a gamer.

And that's as it should be.
