Hey ladies. If you got the dungeon, I have the dragon.

/yeah. I didn't get laid a lot.
/actually played a lot of Battle for Hue but could never win as the U S.

My old school Dark Ages Vampire game has three women and one guy as players, my regular Shadowrun group has four regular women players and two guys (one of which is playing a female character), and my wife is running a 3.5 game... I'm surrounded by estrogen when I play these days.

2012-10-03 09:01:58 AM
I own all the GURPS manuals, have a DM that does stuff regularly, but it's always on the weekends, and my wife won't play.

I have a sad.

Our college crew had 3 women regulars, all 3 of whom eventually married 3 of the guy players.

/1 each in case that wasn't clear.

Shadow Blasko: Smoking GNU: That's cause they distract their opponents with their boobs, like a self-defense mechanisim by some insects who have large "eyes" on their wings.

True, but even as a ... well... breast enthusiast, I can turn that off when need be. I mean, hell... I've spent 22 years working at Renaissance Festivals, and several years dressing up women in corsets and latex fetish outfits...

From a purely asexual (as asexual as one can be when you realize that the sexiest thing on a woman is indeed between her ears, not her arms) standpoint, the hawt ones have the ... wicked factor... that seems to make them excel at competitive gaming.

I've never understood...or been able to Integrate why the surest way to getting laid as a male is to present a "sex is unimportant to me, I'm so Into X hobby." attitude.

There's such a massive amount of passive-aggressive courtship going on in these circles.

The sexual dynamic suggested by the CL ad is definitely the same as hiring a stripper. Or more lIke a domInatrIx or other erotIc performer. Any delusion of some "liberated gender-unbiased" gaming fun, is laughable when you're paying a certain gender to bare flesh.

Not condemning, mind you. I'm no saint.

I didn't get to go to the pre-release last weekend. Busy getting married. Although, one of my groomsmen wanted to do the midnight flight, but we talked him out of it. We stayed home that night and played our edh decks (slivers ftw!). Good times :-D

As I told Shadow Blasko on FB earlier, this ad is fake. Really, who on earth runs a one-shot adventure that only lasts 30 minutes?

/have not played D&D topless
//nor MtG but have thought about it
/have played three-man naked however

I think as soon as the dame DM would walk in, the entire group would fail their saving throw vs. mass paralysis

This. All the "nerdy girl pics" being posted are just adverts and conbooth PR moves to separate basement dwellers from their Dew/Cheeto money. The nerd girls are all on Pintrest and Etsy obsessing over 35-year-old handbags and want nothing to do with guys who aren't Hipster Robert Pattinson In Glasses With A Guitar And A Book OF Poetry They Wrote. That one girl you knew who actually threw D20's back in college outgrew that awkward phase and joined the OMG Shoes/handbag/Newcutecellphone brigade and will deny that they ever really touched a PHB. The bottom line is women don't obsess over the same things guys do and to the extent guys do.

I don't see it as passive-aggressive or worthy of condemnation so much as trying (and hilariously failing) to satisfy both sides of a double standard at the same time. "We want a chick to DM naked for us, but we're really respectful gentlemen I swear!"

If you're gonna drop the chivalry act, drop it. Nothing wrong with hiring a stripper, but you're either after some action or you aren't.

Oh congratulations!

Yeah, slivers are mean. I prefer personally to have a million haste black and red goblins that build on each other much like slivers- I had a deck I built that didn't have a creature that was bigger than 3/3, yet I completely ruled with it thanks to mountainwalk.

On one hand, here's a rant about "nerdy" women saying it's either fake or a phase. It's from an anonymous Farker so I know he knows exactly what he's talking about. On the other, my wife has unlocked almost every animal in Tokyo Jungle before I've even picked it up because she's pestering me to beat every PS1 JRPG on her "god tier" list.

I. . . I just don't know what to believe anymore.

CeroX: Parthenogenetic: xanadian: Now, roll a saving throw against jizzing in your pants.

Fortitude, or Will save?

How does the DM set the appropriate DC?

Discuss.

Well, in Shadowrun, Orgasm is a spell, set against target's will, opposed roll...

Mr. digitalrain and I have a house rule. We role a responsiveness stat (4d6, drop the lowest
but you can do it however you want) and if you roll UNDER, you get off. A roll of a 1 is a multiple.

Male characters deduct 1 from their Resp stat each time they get off, so if their Resp stat is
a 12, then after the first orgasm it becomes an 11, etc...

Makes for messy game sex, what with everyone getting off so often, but its easy to keep
track of.

Huh... that is an interesting overarching generalization that fails epically when applied to me.
Robert Patterson is icky and a horrible representation of what "male" is - heck, I'm not sure he's even human.
I prefer Karl Urban, Chris Hemsworth, Clay Matthews, ... more "men" looking men. Viking men. MEN that can grow REAL facial hair, people.
Yes, I know who Clay Matthews is. I won my fantasy football league last year. I have Sunday Ticket.
Etsy and Pinrest are stupid and boring. I don't care that your cupcakes look like little houses. It is a damn cupcake. Eat it.
I hate shopping - I loath it. It is not a sport I enjoy (Yes, other women should just admit for them, it is a sport)
I don't own a purse. I have a briefcase for work that suits just fine. It is black.
Women who have to have multiple purses to match their shoes confuse me to no end. Why waste money that could be spent on Space Marines and Imperial Guard minis?
Shoes - OMG anothersport. I own two pair of heels. Black and brown. They are for work. I hate them. I wear either my tennis shoes or boots when not at work, thank you.
Newcutecellphone? You mean my three year old blackberry that work provides me?

Sorry, but professional women who are over 30 yet still enjoy D&D, RPGs, VideoGames, and miniature war-gaming do exist. I'm one of them.

Oh, ok, and some are illustrations from comics and fanart. You can tell from the pixels. Sure some guys might have run an unlikely intercept play and caught a nerdgirl during that awkward phase in college, but that is improbable and rare to the point approaching practical impossibility. It's on a par with your 4-year-old wishing to be a helicopter when he grows up; sure, uhm, yeah, could happen, but I think the surgery to implant the turbine and fuel tanks will be costly and painful and WTF?!?!

I don't blame socially repressed and introverted guys for holding out hope for that gorgeous Cosplay Queen with a heart of gold who can see beyond the acne scars and obscene body hair and love them for who they are, but reality has to be accounted for. I mean, if you're just out to squeeze one off to a sexy X-woman in a unitard, that's what the nerdgirl pics are for, but once that photoshoot ended, she met her insanely hot/rich boyfriend for an afternoon of shopping on Rodeo Drive and your chances of wooing her just dropped back to nil.

miss diminutive: I've seen someone link to that one before, so I've had a chance to read it and marvel at the sheer wondrous geekitude. I also remember one thread where people basically wrote how they thought the star wars prequels should have gone. It didn't have massive amounts of comments, but I do remember thinking that a decent number of Farkers stories sounded much better than the actual prequels themselves.

Two Girls One Cup had a better plot than the SW prequels.

Makes for messy game sex, what with everyone getting off so often, but its easy to keep
track of.

I guess if i were to actually make a player roll for coming, it would go as such:

Male characters: Agility+Willpower+Modifiers

Female: Body+Charisma+Modifiers

Opposed Extended Test (1 hour)

Male Successes cancel Female Successes, if Female Successes are 0 or negative, she comes. If Male Glitches, premature ejac. otherwise, come at the resolve of the extended test...

Boeheimian Rhapsody: Shadow Blasko: Kipple: Sorry, but professional women who are over 30 yet still enjoy D&D, RPGs, VideoGames, and miniature war-gaming do exist. I'm one of them.

All of this +120

if this is a nerd thread, shouldn't we point out that +1 raised to the 20th power is still only +1?

It was supposed to be 1D20 but my phone totally messed it up. I blame swype

Huh... that is an interesting overarching generalization that fails epically when applied to me.

Sorry, but professional women who are over 30 yet still enjoy D&D, RPGs, VideoG ...

Half her points came from poise and evening gown, the other half came from her ranking in the tournament. I'm thinking EDH format. Which they'd play in their swimsuits and heels only.

I'd win that thing so hard.

I knew i favorited you for a reason :-)

I insist I came in third in the WorldWake prerelease tourney because I was wearing a miniskirt and stiletto boots. Distracted my opponents. Also, I rule at pack wars deck building.

I didn't get to go to the pre-release last weekend. Busy getting married. Although, one of my groomsmen wanted to do the midnight flight, but we talked him out of it. We stayed home that night and played our edh decks (slivers ftw!). Good times :-D

Oh congratulations!

Yeah, slivers are mean. I prefer personally to have a million haste black and red goblins that build on each other much like slivers- I had a deck I built that didn't have a creature that was bigger than 3/3, yet I completely ruled with it thanks to mountainwalk.

dragonchild: Fecacacophany: I don't blame socially repressed and introverted guys for holding out hope for that gorgeous Cosplay Queen with a heart of gold who can see beyond the acne scars and obscene body hair and love them for who they are, but reality has to be accounted for.

kiwimoogle84: You have a lot of hate. Get help for that.

As long as you're on Fark, I would recommend learning to spot a troll when it's straying so blatantly far from its cave it's practically screaming it wants to be spotted.

Don't worry. I know I bit. I only bite when it's worth it though. So many guys are told there's no hope, and I champion for them that there is. So many farkers here that I'm friends with are lonely and don't think they deserve love.

And Kipple? Like hell you get dibs on Karl. But I tell you what- you can have him from Bourne, Riddick and LOTR, I get him from Dredd, Doom and Priest. Deal?

You have given me my favorite Urban - the LOTR Urban is the bestest. Let us get one more issue outta the way then - Who gets the Pathfinder Urban? I'll trade ya Bourne if I get dibs on Pathfind Urban. Since there are multiple Urbans for Xena we can just trade him on that show....

kiwimoogle84:

Untrue, sir. I know more about the Materia system in FF7, the Cthuhlu DM guide, MTG mythic rares, and kicking ass in Assassins Creed than most men I know.

I couldn't care less about Pinterest or handbags or designer anything. I despise hipsters, twilight anything, and don't even have a twitter account.

That said, I'm also not an asexual unwashed miscreant who lives in a basement.

So, please don't speak in absolutes. We're out there. I promise.

I realize there are exceptions and no absolutes. However, there comes a time when a person has to throw up their hands, admit that the needle in the haystack will remain in the haystack for many human lifetimes of searching and move on. It doesn't mean the needle doesn't exist, just that it will not be found within practical constraints of time and effort. It's much easier to move on from a fruitless task if you believe that hope is dead.

To those few exceptional women who enjoy RPG's, gaming and the culture it ensconces, I salute you. Your more than a guy can hope for.

Deal. We have an accord. You can have Xena and Pathfinder. I'll take Bourne.

And Fecacacophany, there's enough despair and sad, lonely needs on here, you don't have to shiat on what little hope they have.
