skinink: American is so bad. Took a AA flight to Europe and plane looked worn down, and although the cabin crew was nice, they had no problem complaining about their work situation within earshot of the passengers. At least my flight left on time. Also the amenities were skimpy.

95629: This is what happens when you have billions in the bank yet declare bankruptcy anyways to screw you workers. During the screw job you layoff thousands of mechanics and have your planes start being maintained in China.Is anyone surprised at all that the planes, and operation, are falling apart? Nothing to do with unions or employees, it all has to do with the fact that management is making millions by squeezing every last drop out of the company at the company, employee, and customer's expense.

FormlessOne: Dear American Airlines,"Faulty" is not the same as "improperly installed." Use of the word, "faulty", implies that blame falls on the manufacturer of the clamp - that, somehow, the clamp itself is at fault or defective in some way. Instead, your technicians improperly installed otherwise hale and useful clamps. I say "your technicians" because when you state "that the issue "does not seem to be tied to any one maintenance facility or one workgroup," well, that's business-speak for "we have no one but ourselves to blame, and we don't want to do that, so blame distributed is blame diffused" and it's pretty clear that it's AA's fault this happened.In the future, please do your God-damned jobs.Thanks,Your customers
