ronaprhys: ICB is a straight up troll and not worth the effort. He's not bad at the trolling, but a troll nonetheless.

Everything I said was factual. Sorry you get your panties in a bunch and cry troll when I point out your ignorance. Blame your mother.

Kit Fister: Well, as a counter point, the CIA that was "gutted" was a morass of beaurocracy and feifdoms that really didn't work together all that well. Plus, you had more red tape involved in getting actionable intel to the eyes of the people that needed than involved in getting disability if you're white with a legitimate injury.

Not that shifting things around to make military intelligence the primary focus (and all the hooey from the whole director of national intelligence, etc.) Did much to ebbe the pissing contests, but it kinda sorta streamlined things.

Now, if the US didn't feel the need to have 26 separate intelligence gathering organizations (not including the NYPD), maybe having it all handled under one or two roofs would make things better, with a lot less required to get from raw intel to action.

No doubt there were problems there, but now it is inept and a sideshow for the Pentagon and sitting administration to push to get the intel they only want to hear then blame them when the intel turns bad, Iraq WMDs.

CIA was powerless in Iraq and Afghanistan and the way the countries headed was proof of concept.

intelligent comment below: The Bush administration gutted the CIA, all the good analysts left, and they hired a bunch of inexperienced MURKA yahoos with no intelligence. They also pushed out the CIA and gave all the power to the sitting administration and the DoD. The Pentagon runs the show, the CIA is now their support detachment rather than a separate civilian intelligence agency like it was designed (for a reason)

Just one more militarization of government, the military industrial complex knows no limits. And watch out if you try standing in the way.

Please change your farm handle...you spout some goofy shiat citizen

How many books do you want me to show you that expand on this point? Can you prove otherwise? No you're just going for more drive by trolling and thread shiating because you don't like the point I gave.

Wow. It only took 5 posts before the "Blame Bush" game got started. Just like the good old days. I guess that's what happens when you can't blame a movie anymore.

Seriously, if everything Bush did in his 8 years in office was the cause of the attacks last month, how come your President, with his infinite wisdom and magic wand, didn't do anything in the last 4 years to repair the damage that you claim Bush did?

Oh yeah, I forgot..."It was worse than we thought. It's going to take more than 4 years to fix the damage that Bush left us". Nevermind.

You also should read

"State of War" - James Risen

Hint, when you question the CIA station chief of Iraq because he dared release a report about how the Iraq war was not in fact going so hot when the administration said it was, and demand to know "what political party he votes for" then you know you have ruined the intelligence apparatus of the country

How can Obama "repair" and "fix" anything when Republicans in Congress tie his hands at every step of the way?
