What are these "numbers" you speak of,Pinocchio?

That's odd, that sounds like something a lying sack of sh*t would say.

They aren't even the party of the rich if they're going to create more taxable income for millionaires, even at a lower tax rate. Paying 15% on $10 million is still going to be cheaper than 10% on $20 million. I can't see many people bringing their money back from the Caymans to pay more at a lower rate.

I have to imagine this is some elaborate trap for tomorrow. Obama will go out and say "Once and for all, Mitt, tell America your tax plan? What exemptions and deductions will you cut?" And then Mitt will just dive right into specifics and Obama will be dumbfounded.

I thought he couldn't show us because we're not smart enough to understand him.

I would like to see the exemptions and deductions they plan to eliminate.

Perhaps if I ask nicely.

This is, of course, conservative math that is quite complicated just like string theory. I could try to explain it to you people but I doubt you'd understand it.

"You don't say to Congress, to Democrats, that you want to work with, 'Take it or leave it, it's everything, it's all my way or the highway," Ryan responded.

Oh really Ryan so you would be open for tax increases on the rich?

Translation: We come up with the tax cuts and we blame you for the cuts we force you to make.

I can feel the warm and golden splash of trickle-down prosperity already.

"What we are saying is, by subjecting higher income earners' income to more taxation, remove tax shelters, lower deductions for higher income people, more of their income is subject to taxation so you can lower tax rates for everybody across the board and shelter the middle class from any kind of tax increase. There is obviously enough fiscal space to lower tax rates 20 percent, keep these middle-class preferences," Ryan added.

I agree with Paul Ryan. We should make the rich pay more.

And Obama is going to cut your health care bill by 2500 dollars right after he cuts the deficit in half... Really, he means it.

Oh and his health care bill is going to 'save money' provided you use this magic set of numbers that will never happen.

In either event, Ryan's plan to do something about run away spending is at least a plan to do something about it... As opposed to Obama's plan, which is to throw some more coal in the furnace so that train wreck can be really spectacular. Not like you're going to blame him for it when it happens.

I'm confused.

"What we are saying is, by subjecting higher income earners' income to more taxation, remove tax shelters, lower deductions for higher income people, more of their income is subject to taxation so you can lower tax rates for everybody across the board and shelter the middle class from any kind of tax increase."

So you want to raise taxes on the higher income earners' income, but everyone across the board will get lower tax rates? Except the higher income tax earners?

Is there something that I'm missing here, or does he not hear the words that come out of his pie-hole?

2012-10-02 02:45:54 PM
I can't tell you specifics right now, but I will later. I would tell you specifics, but it's too complicated. Why are you bothering me? I already showed you specifics.

I haven't seen an evasion hat trick like that since they asked Clinton about the beeje.

Derp logic is there's only love and hate, you either love somebody or you hate them. One through nine, no maybes, no supposes, no fractions. You can't travel in space, you can't go out into space, you know, without, like, you know, uh, with fractions - what are you going to land on - one-quarter, three-eighths? What are you going to do when you go from here to Venus or something? That's the Ryan Plan!

Basically, it's him talking out of both sides of his mouth.

He's huge on "reducing tax rates", but what he's saying here is that he wants to reduce everyone's nominal tax rates. A person making a million/month might have the vast majority of their money nominally taxed at 35%, but in practice they pay 15-20% by taking exemptions, deductions, putting money in shelters, etc.

If you can lower the nominal amount from 35% to 25% while letting the rich still pay 15-20%, it looks like a huge achievement.

Granted, that doesn't make his math come out even, he's still looking at something insane like $7 trillion in tax cuts with no significant spending cuts or additional revenue.

His plan to reduce taxes across the board is part of that plan. Does that really sound to you like it's an actual plan of any kind?

Reducing taxes will happen to somehow increase demand among markets to get workers and then we make government revenue by uuuuuuuuuuuh....
