I'm doing a practicum today at a school, so I can't even check my phone to see the scores. Is there any firstrowsports type site that records the matches and lets you watch them later? I'm specifically going to be looking for the Bayern one.

I don't think any tv station in the US is playing it, Foxsoccer is giving it a miss to replay the same three matches 30 times instead.

Matches I'm interested in.

Bayern I'll give the win too. I think they're showing they're a bit tired, but this game will liven them up. This shouldn't be a problem. Man U should also get an easy win. Barcelona and Benfica should be the top match of the day, I really couldn't care less who wins it though but I'm gonna try and catch that later if I can.

Tomorrow's group of death matches should be excellent. I'll take Dortmund over City, even though I'd prefer for City to win and I'm hoping for an Ajax win over Madrid though I don't see it happening.

16 great games? More like one, a couple that don't outright suck, and a shiat ton of abysmal ones. Is there anything worse in football than the group stages of a tourney? What a shiat, shiat, shiat format. Oh, and Putin? Get off your ass and bring back the C.C.C.P., so we can get rid of all those crap East Euro leagues.

It's not like there are any US teams in it, so it should at least be entertaining. Some of them will be goalfests for one side, but even that can be fun to watch. Think of it as variety.

The Gunners should be able to handle Olympiacos tomorrow. After a mediocre showing against Chelsea, they need to show what they can do.

celtic looking in control so far. up 1-0, and had another one (rightfully) denied for being just a smidge offside.

I may or may not get to watch Bayern today, but I'll at least be checking a gamecast on my phone. Hoping for the Bavarians to keep their 100% win record so far.

But Mandzukic and Mueller could use a rest, and Robben is injured and Pizarro misfired last game. We'll have to see how Heynckes plays this one out.

well that just changed the complexion of things a bit.

No Schweinsteiger in the starting line-up for Bayern. Heynckes more or less saying that there are no favorites in rotation.

Let's see if Martinez and Gustavo can work together.

Cluj is from Transylvania? That's kinda cool...

Gonna watch Benfica/Barca.

From BBC about United's line-up:

You already know that Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez all start for Manchester United against Romanian champions Cluj. Elsewhere, David de Gea is recalled in goal, while Anderson, Darren Fletcher and Tom Cleverley will play in central midfield

Chelsea can win by 5 goals or lose today's match

Well, BATE Borisov's been quielty building a profile over in Belarus the last several years. It was really only a matter of time before they swiped one off a Bayern Munich or someone.

Got home earlier than I expected I would, only to see Bayern losing? What the heck is this nonsense? Have they been playing this bad the entire match?

Yes. It's pathetic.

Last year they were in a CL group with Barcelona and Milan (and drew Milan). I remember watching them battle Plzen for the 3rd place (EL knockout spot)

Their wiki is incredibly frustrating to read because they list away ties still according to the perspective of BATE (1-0 Home 2-0 Away and advancing)... In any case, in the last 5 years they've beaten Villareal, advanced through Anderlecht, tied Juve home and away, tied Zenit, beat Everton, tied Dynamo Kiev, beat AZ, tied PSG and Milan and so far this year, beat Lille away. Yes I'm cherry picking, but if they hold on here with Bayern, I think they are in a good position to get through their (otherwise tough) group.

I don't even want to watch this. Doesn't look like Jupp does either.

Well, if Sammer is ticked off after a 2-0 win by Bayern, how will he react after this train wreck?

2012-10-02 04:27:19 PM
Bayern just hasn't been able to master BATE...

2012-10-02 04:28:22 PM
Bayern didn't even deserve the win, even though BATE played that disgusting five men in the penalty box tactic. No creativity, tried the same tactic over and over again with no results, and horrid defending.

Bleh.

Puyol out with a broken arm. Anmis Puyol.

And there's the stamp from BATE

Ridiculous defending. From both sides, but for different reasons.

2012-10-02 05:30:32 PM
Late word is Puyi has a dislocated elbow.
/sending get well wishes to El Capita whose injury record is starting to scare me

Ouch, just saw the injury. That could just be dislocated, but I'm guessing broken arm. Scary stuff.

Early reports are dislocation. Think that has a slightly faster recovery time than a break.
