At least he gave them a formal notice. Darned felons these days, they hop out of the woodwork and surprise you with their extortion demands. Good to see this is one criminal keeping up on Miss Manners.

"I'll fark with the wealthy. They have practically no power or influence, and are as helpless as infants!"

Cunning plan, blah blah.

EngineerBoy: "[Victim], if you follow the instructions, then you can take this notice lightly. If you don't, then expect at least one person dead in the next one year," one letter stated. "It could either be [first names of close relatives], or any other close relative."

Dude is lucky they turned him in to the feds, farking with multi millionaires can easily result in a series of calls:

Call 1- Hello detective x? yes this is Joe Moneybags, say do me a favor and trace down who sent me these Emails would you, thanks, I will send a messenger by with my usual donation to the "police benevolent society" soon

Call 2- Mr retired-seal? this is Mr Moneybags, I have a name, address, and photo for you, no quick or painful doesn't matter to me, your choice this time, deliver the remains to Mr woodworkers special place when you are done.

Call 3- Mr woodworker? this is Moneybags, you still have that industrial wood shredder and mulch pile out on country road 3? excellent, listen you will need to bring your pressure washer out there tomorrow morning I am afraid the blades will be a bit....messy, yes my assistant will be by with the usual fee for the extra work, thanks.

The September 26 indictment filed in L.A. accuses Shah of threatening Weinstein and five other victims in letters actually entitled "Extortion Notice."

You're doing it wrong.

jabelar: I never really understand these plans, probably because the perpetrators are functionally retarded. I mean even if the target believed you, how would you ever be able to retrieve the money without getting caught. And rich, powerful guys are that way because they are NOT pushovers. In fact most of them have probably done shakedowns (legal but ruthless) themselves in their business practices to get where they were. Plus the sheer money brings the ability to find ways to protect themselves.

For example according to wikipedia, "Weinstein has also cultivated a reputation for ruthlessness and fits of anger. According to Biskind, Weinstein once put a New York Observer reporter in a headlock while throwing him out of a party."

You'd probably do better going after slightly wealthy people who have proven themselves meek or gullible.

Alas, if he had packaged it as an absurd comedy he could have gotten creative credits. Now it's property of Harvey Weinstein. IDIOT.
