Colorado people are notoriously bad about letting their dogs live a life free from discipline or control. If you go to a park, stay to the pavement or you WILL be covered in dog crap. But even on the pavement, you WILL be crotch-butted by at least a couple of dogs. Leashes are apparently considered a horrible cruelty and god help you if you ever call animal control on someone's poop-n-drool factory.

So I'm 100% okay with drugging the little farkers to sleep.

Its too late for my dog. I found his Jenkim and threw it out and now I caught him eating right out of the cats litter pan.

More like death by chocolate if you ask me.

A one pound Hershey bar presents more of a danger to Fido than a one pound bag of pot.

When I was 17 or so I had just got a quarter bag.. cleaned all the seeds and stems out of it.. rolled one, smoked one, put the shiat under the couch and went to Burger King. Come back and somehow my mom's dog had gotten under the couch and ate the entire bag plus seeds/stems. Man I was pissed.. Told my mom she owed me $30 (yes that dates me on pricing) and she paid me back.

Anyway dog slept for a day and lived until it was 20.

You see stoners?! This is what marijuana does. It KILLS! Everyone always says "Well no one died from pot!" Bullshiat. Now two families are dealing with a tragedy because of marijuana.

Chocolate and onions also kill dogs... so we'd better ban those

Yeah, I know how this thread's gonna go. Anywho, once in a blue moon my dog will come to me while I'm partaking and shove his nose in my face and let out a "me want" whimper. I generally oblige with one blow out, then he'll promptly go lay down with a toy. He's an old man now and I have to give him glucosamine so I imagine it helps.

Our dog used to seek it out from where my brother hid it and go around the house eating it! If you blew smoke it it's face it would want to start humping people's legs! It was a great dog, but would piss my brother off when his stash was hit!

This.

FTA: Most of the time veterinarians say dogs get the medical marijuana by eating their owners food products that are laced with marijuana that were left out in the open.

Like, oh, I dunno, chocolate brownies, for example?

My dogs are like the dog in that anti-pot PSA: They HATE it when I smoke. They'll ignore me, refuse to come near me, and sometimes will intentionally destroy something I use regularly. They're well-behaved, so I *know* the destruction is intentional. I don't get it, really, as I'll usually show them extra affection and attention.

Happens with chocolate and other things not good for dogs all the time. Just gotta be mindful about what you have set out.

That being said, I don't agree with getting your dog ripped be it weed or beer or champagne. Poor critters don't understand at all.

our dog ate the tiniest bit of revape and boy was she high! we took her to the vet b/c we didn't know what was going on. she was swaying when she was standing but when she was in my arms she'd lean her head back and just look up at me and her mouth would fall open. she came down in a few hours but she sure did look very relaxed and happy for those few hours (she's a puppy and very hyper).

I think it's funny how liberals like making fun of Mitt Romney for hauling his dog (in a safe carrier) on top of his car, but here are liberals abusing dogs with marijuana. I seriously and honestly believe that Colorado Springs and maybe John Elway are the only places to see any sanity in Colorado. It's like the state lost its self to marijuana. They actually have stores on streetcorners selling legally marijuana. I had alot of explaining to do to my kids when we visited this past Summer. Thanks "mile high state".

All animals are different. I saw this documentary on pbs about alcoholics with pets (mostly cats) that were somehow their one clarifying moment, and reason for being sober. All of the people in the story had this vibe from their pet while trashed, that the pet was 'shaming' them or in some way wanting them to stop destroying themselves. All in all it was a nice story, and if a person wants to sober up using god, a pet, or whatever is fine. Maybe your dog doesn't think you're you when you're stoned.

I am shocked, shocked to hear that people who "need" medical marijuana are irresponsible dumbasses without regard for the well-being of their pets.

"Dude, watch this, blow smoke in the cat's face, it's HILARIOUS!"

every thread? we get it. we got it along time ago.

When you explained it to them, did you say freedom is scary, and children, when you grow up I want you to control people lives with your belief system. Do not let other people live their lives the way they want to. That is freedom. And it is bad.

My old Berner has a blown out knee, and is on anti-inflammatory drugs. Occasionally I will take a little kibble and soak it in the evil oil. Does a world of good for the old boy. Just lays there and smiles (big flat spot on the floor). When on the "legal" drugs, he always winds up hurting himself.

Any kind of wine is a bad idea, grapes are bad for dogs. A little beer occasionally probably doesn't hurt anything, considering how much grain is used as filler in cheap dog food.

Honestly I doesn't even need to have an explanation for the animals behavior most of the time they animal is probably acting normally, although in this case destroying stuff seems like a behavior change you would notice. I have insomnia and when I'd be up at 03:00 reading because I 'couldn't sleep' My old cat used to jump on the bed and do everything he could to get between me and my book. I know this was because he wanted attention and I was the only person awake in the house but a small part of me felt like he was trying to help. It's easy to anthropomorphize your pets for anything especially if you are impaired in any way (exaustion, dugs, alcohol, pain, etc).

At least in Colorado people can bring their pets to the vet and be honest about what happened.

I know people who have been very very wary of going to the vet for these situations.

At least in colorado you don't have to hesitate because you think the law is going to get involved.
