According to this, if a woman is "contracepting," she is no longer desirable and men will turn gay rather than f*ck a "contracepting" woman.

Within seconds of viewing that abortion of a video, I had this strong urge to go and pound the producers with a baseball bat.

Could that be blamed on 'second hand side effects' from women using contraceptives? Lack of being immersed in a steady bath of natural female hormones?

No over population? Geez! If I get started on that, the missive I'd turn out would clog FARK servers just trying to load.

What a bunch of dipshiats!

Come to the mid west, we have plenty of room.

The overall planet doesn't have an overpopulation problem. Specific areas of the planet (Japan, India, China, Korea, etc) do have an overpopulation issue though. It would be like 100 people living in only 10 rooms of a 200 apartment tenement building and someone saying that the building is too crowded.

Area-wise, you'll get no argument from me. However, we are using natural resources (fossil fuels, water, forests) at unsustainable rates. The earth simply cannot sustain a population this large indefinitely - we were able to extend the population limit with the green revolution but agricultural technology cannot be expected to keep pace. Eventually we end up with a 'too many mouths to feed' scenario.

Remember that every one of those 1039sf plots of people space must be supplied with clean drinking water, sewerage, farmed food (both plant and animal), work and play. Look at the water pollution rates that have come with our large population, look at the greenhouse gas production, look at the overfishing and overuse of fertilizers to keep our billions of bellies full.

It takes a lot more than just a place to sit to have a human in modern society.

Now, their data and conclusions about birth rates are significant; Japan is already suffering mightily from their elderly-skewed population and the medical care for them... China will be far worse.

However, this video is for the most part a whole lot of correlation v. causation errors.

Perhaps, and this is a huge presumption about pheromones and attraction, this might be true if you are within very close proximity to the supermodel and this 'fertile' girl next door. When was the last time you were able to get within smelling distance of a supermodel? Its more likely the supermodel smelled your smelly farker ass and saw the Cheetos stains on your clothing and ran so far away.

/ Can't smell pheromones through the monitor, so average girl is still average

mr lawson is right. You're assuming that the only barrier to comfortably having more people is that the tech hasn't caught up. In fact though, the tech will never catch up to certain areas of the population. That cannot be avoided.

did the female monkeys injected with Depo turn into overweight (25lbs in 2 months fast) screeching harpies??

actually, i find extremely fertile women the least attractive. knew this girl that got pregnant with pretty much every serious boyfriend she had. (she has some kids). that was the most unattractive thing about her. the knowledge that she was uber-fertile and I might get stuck with an unwanted life.

So basically, if a man can't smell a woman's pheromones, he won't find her attractive?

I guess what I'm trying to imply is the dumb video is basically speaking for all males (which is silly) and even more silly is that she's saying super models don't ovulate. And I've bagged some total dime pieces in my time. I don't think they could be super models, but I'm sure some of them could get modeling work if they desired to.

The US will not suffer the ill effects of overpopulation anytime soon. My city has gone from 1M to 5M in 30 years but the standard of living is high enough that only some minor conveniences have been lost. The problem is that half the world's pop are on the brink of some very real problems. Places like the Philippines and Malaysia are already in trouble. China and India will start having noticeable problems in the next 10 years or so.

There seems to be some debate about this. I'm not saying you're mistaken, but I do feel that none of us should be making bold claims as if they're undisputed facts. I know that I personally feel that we're likely already over our long-term capacity (given current factors, and not betting the farm on future advances that may or may not arrive), but I can't declare that any more confidently than anyone who can disagrees with me can confidently assert the opposite.

Yes, I don't like condoms either. That's why I like to have sex with girls who haven't gone through puberty as well as females of other species. And when I have sex with a human female who is capable of reproduction, I stick only to oral and/or anal sex and I ejaculate exclusively on their faces.

79% of those said half were total strangers

So, let me get this..straight (punny). Let's low ball and say 10,000 of "teh gays" exist. That means that 8000 of them met 250 people for the first time and though "man, I'd like to fark that."

I think the US throws away about half the food it produces, so we very obviously produce more than our population needs. If, instead of throwing away some of that food, it was applied to needy populations elsewhere*, that would increase the carrying capacity. Unless that has already been factored in to their calculations...the Wikipedia article doesn't really say.

I do realize that it's about more than food. Clean water, space that is actually livable, access to resources, etc all come in to play as well. I just think that the "OMG the Earth is overpopulated!" people are bordering on hyperbolic.

*I am well aware that, of the food we toss out, a relatively small percentage would be suitable or sustainable for shipping elsewhere instead of throwing away.,,just posing a hypothetical.

I read that homosexual men have sex with pickups or anonymous strangers a lot more frequently than hetero men. And the gay men that I know (the younger ones, at least) tend to support this. If you are a hedonist, you'd probably enjoy the gay lifestyle. If you were gay, that is.

I think you're actually missing a lot of the important details of what's really going on, and drawing some seriously unfounded conclusions from that. I've seen plenty of very hungry people within sight of people who had too much to eat. It's about MUCH more than food production.

I see that "Comments may be held for uploader approval." It has been 6 days since the video was uploaded. Over 23k views and no comments. I'm wondering if the uploader will not allow comments that disagree with their view. It's always bothered me when someone will only discuss a subject with those who affirm they're right and not with those who challenge their view. If that's not being closed minded, then I don't know what is.
