Diogenes: xanadian: Diogenes: If this really is government forces, what's the likelihood it would be enough to get us involved?

I'm not advocating that. Just curious.

I'm on the fence for advocating it. Getting neck-deep in another conflict would be a bad idea, though. Maybe we can just blow up two ammo dumps, an abandoned railroad bridge and a Syrian intelligence agency.

You're not alone. My doctor is Syrian and he's so afraid for his parents there. It's hard for good people to see this happen and resist the desire to help. I'm glad I don't have to make that decision.

My wife is from Lebanon and didn't leave until 2000. She has a rather... different opinion on the whole conflict.

Suffice it to say, she's not over it.

And The Scarecrow. And Red Eye. And The Wind That Shakes The Barley. I'm still trying to figure out if dude is startlingly beautiful or just really weird-looking.

....and to which references are you referring? Also, the average salary in Syria is $242/month (US). So I would imagine a "jizz-mopper" would be on the lower end of that spectrum. However, the average salary for a photographic journalist in the Houston area is about $38k. Care to guess how much that salary increases when someone chooses to place themself in the middle of a hotbed of terrorism?
