Is there a Party that strongly supports the Divine right of the wealthy to rule? That's the party Romney should be in.

Mitt was once (I think?) a typical Northeast Republican. Then he went and repudiated himself from his record. Of COURSE the generic Republican voter isn't going to be able to trust him. And Democrats and independents aren't going to know which way he's going to go, or if he was *really* a Northeast Republican in the past. Everything he did may have just been one big scam. Nobody knows.

Romney was always a bit of a used car salesman, but he showed the American public he was willing to be the as big of a shyster as necessary to get through the Republican primary.

Let's be honest, we wouldn't trust anyone they would have nominated.

Huntsman?

YES, I KNOW I KEEP BEATING THAT DEAD HORSE

When the GOP primaries were just getting underway, I looked at Romney's record in Massachusetts. And while I definitely didn't agree with a lot of his issues, I *did* agree with others. I figured, if nominated, and Obama were to lose, at least we wouldn't have a real psycho up there like Santorum, and maybe we'd have a President that wouldn't try to turn the US into Jesusland.

Boy, was I mistaken. At least with Santorum, you know what you're getting.

Oh come now.

Laying aside the man's failures as a human being, can you imagine the levels of herp and derp that a Democrat running for president who spent the Vietnam years in France and owns a dancing Olympic horse would cause?

Rush Limbaugh would have had a heart attack by August. Glenn Beck would have actually strangled a crew member on his show, live, in a fit of ecstasy. The opening montage to Fox and Friends would be a series of CGI dancing horses wearing berets. Steve Doocy would ride in on a horse everyday, dismount, and immediately shoot it between the eyes. O'Reilly would have interviewed the remaining cast of Mister Ed. Suddenly BBQ horse meat and freedom fries would have become the most popular thing at carnivals south of the Mason Dixon line.

Holy fark, you know? There's an alternate universe where this happened, and Fark has a 'Horse' tag.

If it wasn't for the Republican penis-goes-where bigoted platform, Romney would be wining hands down. It really isn't Romney that most independents and centrists dislike, it is the radicalization of the party. Many feel that a veto of such absurdity is needed in the Executive Branch.

/How I feel at least

Muta: He was the best choice the republicans had amoungst those running in the primaries.

I think Jon Huntsman was the most qualified and he seems to be a really smart guy. He only polled at 1%, though.

It's because, to be a Republican in 2012, you have to be likable to:

- sibling farkers down in the bayou
- volunteer border-patrollers with assault rifles slung across their backs and white sheets in their dressers
- descendants of Texan oil tycoons with the ability to fire three revolvers into the air at once
- people who believe slavery was a "state's rights" issue and never miss a Civil War battle reenactment (in their Confederacy uniform, of course)
- farmers that consistently fail to realize that your policies, while very Jesus and bald eagle-y, will turn their farms into bubbling cesspools
- people who live in gated communities within gated communities

It's a very diverse group, and they don't get along. Pander to some, and to others you will appear crazy, not Jesusy enough, etc. Oh, but that won't make them vote for Obama. You ARE the "other guy", after all. Either they will suck it up and vote for you, or they'll throw their vote to the libertarian, or they won't vote at all. Those last two things... aren't so good for you.

Republicans. So, yeah, he's in the correct party.

So he could have had a humiliating loss as a democrat instead as as republican? This isn't a partisan issue. Right now, Romney's job is becoming President. Romney is bad at his job.

Eek. The election is still a month away and they're already starting to say Romney isn't conservative enough? That can't be good.
