I loved the Chicken Maharaja Mac in India, the spicy curry sauce was actually quite tasty. So was the Kofte burger in Turkey. Peru had OK fried chicken served with the bubble gum flavored Inca Kola. Although the McKroket in the Netherlands is complete crap.

/Love to try local McDonald's foods when travelling as a break from eating all of the local cuisine all the time.

In China, the Pizza Hut also serves steaks and spaghetti and stuff.

The Kenny Rogers Roasters in the Beijing International Airport terminal (which is massive, by the way) also is a steakhouse.

The locals call them the "American Embassy" (as opposed to McDonald's which I thought was odd). When I was there I got a bone-in chicken leg that was stretched out on a skewer. It was rather foul...or fowl as it were.

That's what I remember of them in England. But I didn't really go in. I just kind of poked my head to take a look at the menu and it looked to be mostly sandwiches and salads. I didn't see Original Recipe anywhere. I was tempted to go in because I couldn't find a damn Chippie in the middle of downtown Newcastle for some reason. But I wasn't *that* hungry.

I walked past a McDonald's in downtown Paris every day when I was there for business. There was always a line in the morning. I didn't check it out (I mean, if you're in Paris for a full week are you going to go to farking McDonalds?!) but it was interesting that you couldn't smell their typical greasy aroma half a mile away...or even right outside for that matter.

Read it all before. Some of the items might be interesting to try here in the US but it got me thinking: what foreign fast food places exist and are any of them in the US?

I mean, the US alone can't have provided fast food to the world. (If so, that might be a good reason for other nations to hate us.)

I've watched 'Bizarre Foods' but eating rotten meat preserved in grease or stopping to get some deep fried spiders from a road cart, covered with blood sauce, isn't what I mean.

What are the equivalent, commercial 'fast food' places in other nations?

Is there a Wong Fu's deep fried duck? KiKi's Sticky Rice Balls? Mohammed's Original Cuscus? Hadji's Home Cooked curry? Steinberger's Traditional Kosher lochs and bagels?

You can skip the Central Asian Balute. (Duck embryos nearly ready to hatch, boiled alive then served in the shell, beak and all.)

I would totally eat the Spicy Paneer Wrap. I like spicy food and I like Paneer. Hell, I may study the picture and make one here at home if I can kinda-sorta figure it out. The "spicy" part would be the part I'd have to completely take off on my own with, though. Unless I can find a description on the net.

Whenever I go to Norway to visit family, I always stop by McDonald's. The have (or had, haven't been in a while) a burger called the McLaks - a salmon burger. They also have a Laksewrap - a salmon snack wrap kind of thing. I dig on salmon.
