Mentat: Fark John Elway.Love, Kansas City
AverageAmericanGuy: What's in it for Elway? Why would you even come out and endorse someone like this unless there's some sort of quid pro quo?
swahnhennessy: Conservatives have to deal with their musicians all being liberal.Liberals have to deal with their sports figures all being conservative./throws in a caveat of "most"
KrispyKritter: Sadly there will be people who consider a professional athletes opinion a good one. I remember a few years back people actually voted a hack actor from the black & white movie days into office. morans.
Jim_Callahan: swahnhennessy: Conservatives have to deal with their musicians all being liberal.Liberals have to deal with their sports figures all being conservative./throws in a caveat of "most"Conveniently, I don't care what John Lennon or Axl Rose think about politics either, and can dismiss them basically out of hand for the same reasons.I mean, technically it's ad hominem, but actually taking the time to listen to every asshole that thinks he has something to say would mean spending my entire life listening to stupid before I even got to someone with a genuinely good idea on a single issue. So I'll stick to just assuming any political position stated by any kind of performer is idiotic and move on with my life barring overwhelming contrary evidence, thanks.
dickfreckle: Drew Brees is among my favorite athletes of all time (yes, I know we currently suck). But his opinion on politics is about as relevant to me as Ted Nugent's'.
Whiskey Pete: Well that does it. I'm voting for Romney because an athlete supports him.
MoeSzyslak: I prefer poor black guy endorsements. They know what's best for America! Obama '12.
MoeSzyslak: I prefer poor black guy endorsements. They know what's best for America! Obama '12Whenever someone who is independently rich endorses a candidate I know I'm for the opposite. Poor losers for Obama!!From my Obama Phone. The only free nationwide 4G network.
Jim_Callahan: Oh, yes, he's been handed literally millions of dollars in free money and stuff to do a job that, and I'm being generous here regarding its difficulty, requires staying in shape and faffing around with an inflated oblong for a couple hours once a week.
Chagrin: AverageAmericanGuy: What's in it for Elway? Why would you even come out and endorse someone like this unless there's some sort of quid pro quo?Running a franchise like the Broncos is steeped in politics, notably with respect to sucking taxpayer money for stadiums, etc.Take a look into how Bush made his first millions.
Ishkur: "Governor Romney is a proven leader with the experience and background to turn around our struggling economy," Elway said in a statement. What experience and background does Romney have, exactly? Is he going to break up the United States into pieces and sell off the assets while pocketing a percentage? ...that's about all he knows how to do.
shotglasss: Is it George Soros? He's an ultra rich white guy. No? How about Warren Buffet, another ultra rich white guy! No? Is it Was it Dave Grohl? Rich white guy! No? How about Steven Spielberg? No again? Brian Harrison? Wait, he got rich because Obama gave him over half a billion taxpayer dollars, so does he count?
colon_pow: Farkers are totally predictable. Carry on with your Elway hate.
LarryDan43: This is your brain after multiple concussions.
