122-122 and 1 playoff victory since 1997. Romo is a symptom, not the cause - that's sitting in the box labeled "owner".

So I tuned out in the 2nd quarter, mostly because of Gruden's weird fetish for Romo (and, well, anything else Gruden said). What was Gruden's excuse as the game came to a close? He's a gunslinger?

I tried to do a shot for everytime Tirico and Gruden said "gunslinger" last night. The doctors think the damage might be permanent.

Does anyone know what the fark Gruden was talking about when he called that circus catch by a Bears TE (about 6:00 to go in regulation) "spider 2 wide banana"? I know plays have weird names sometimes, but that deserves some sort of explanation.

Did Chucky have a stroke on national TV and no one had the heart to tell him, or did I miss a reference somewhere?

That it's a new offensive line and they're still getting used to each other... or some shiat...

Funny, Bears have a new offensive line too, with several rookies.

I love when the Bears win, it's because the other team did something wrong, and when the Bears loose, it's because they suck.

But yeah, Romo got picked more than a cherry tree last night.

There isn't a single rookie on the Bears offensive line, and only one guy is in his second year. Although I understand the mistake; they often do play like rookies, although they don't offer the glimmer of hope and potential that rookies do.

never mind, my fault for including the word "line" I meant to say the Bears have a new offense.

Either way, the point stands, when a teams looses (and badly) against the Bears they have nothing but excuses why it happened for the other team. But when the Bears loose it's because they suck.

The Cowboys got stomped last night, deal with it.

Yeah, it is a play/route, although I believe it is actually "Spider 2, Y banana", where the "Y" refers to the receiver on the play (receivers are typically labeled X, Y, and Z depending on where they line up).

/Someone with more football/receiver knowledge than me, feel free to chime in. My career ended after being a high school lineman over 10 years ago... not many Y-bananas for the linemen

2012-10-02 12:28:18 PM
Romo was at fault for 2 of those picks but he wasn't the only reason they lost that game. The "restructured" Dallas secondary looked horrible. Carr isn't worth the price tag they paid so far and Claiborne is too young and inexperienced at this level to be able to cover some of these top end receivers.

Dez bryant couldn't make the key catches and blew a timing route for the first pick. I can't really call that one on Romo because the play is designed for him to throw the ball and Dez to turn around and the ball to be there. Dez kept going. The second pick was Ogletree not catching a ball that hit him in the hands. The third pick was the Offensive line almost getting Romo killed from behind. The other picks were all on him though.

Their main issues are with coaching and their GM in my opinion. Their defense might be pretty good in a year or two but right now they looks terrible. The offense is way to inconsistent and their play calling is predictable.

I think Romo is a good QB, but they need to get him a Line that can afford him more then 1-2 seconds and that can get off blocks to help with the running game. Murray is a really good back who gets stuffed a lot of the time because the o-line is garbage.

.500 team at best this year unless they really start stringing wins together.

At least the penalties were under control this game...

/Right?

Jerry Jones is the new Al Davis. He thinks he knows everything about football, but he really knows nothing. Only when someone with some guts can make Jerry realize that he needs to step away from the GM role and get someone else to do it will the Cowboys be good again.

Here's hoping that's not for another 100 years.
