I have a bit of a fetish for bald men.

But there's a difference between shaved bald (Michael Jordan) and thinning.

Howie Mandel should just Go West.

Same here. Men who shave their head seem more confident.

Would explain why I am always confused for a top.

That's because they're compensating.

Confident? Whatever. I don't care if it supposedly makes them look more confident, or what-not. I just care it makes them look hot.

/your bald head, let me rub it. No, not that one! Well, maybe that one too.

Yeah - whatever, slap-heads.

It's a well known fact that when a woman sees a bald man from the back, she immediately associates his gleaming, bare scalp with the head of penis. If the man turns around at precisely the right moment after the association, the woman's psyche, without her even being aware of it, takes that association a step further and assumes a natural virility and sexual prowess on the part of the male in question. Sex is pretty much a guarantee at that point, which is bald men with any self-awareness always stand where they can use their natural surroundings (mirrors, windows, etc.) to see what's going on behind them. You don't want to turn around at the wrong moment, after all (and sometimes it's best to let some of the women just slip on by).

I had my head shaved for a while, but the top of my head isn't smooth, it's kind of bumpy and doesn't look so good.

Eh, you have to be ripped or black to pull off the shaved head. If I did it, I'd look like a cancer patient.

All of the guys I work with have. They are all under 30, and I'm 56 with no grey, and a full head.
WTF?
I blame the cheetoes and Mt Dew.
Must be something in the local environment. I'm not from here.

Black dudes can pull this look off. White dudes who try, we all know your are just going bald. You don't have to pretend anymore.

Shane Crawin went from looking like a menacing contender when he had hair to a tomato can, a rum-dum, a professional opponent even, when he shaved his head.

2012-10-01 02:56:48 PM
My wife likes my balding pate. When the hair in front turns into a island d' coiffure, then I will consider shaving.
I like the idea of not shaving the remaining ring of hair and getting a Riff-Raff sort of a look going.

2012-10-01 02:57:13 PM
Yes, we are.

I started balding when I was in my mid-twenties, and been shaving ever since (33 now).

I can say that I am more confident than I would be with the horseshoe hairline I would have if I did not shave.

Fortunately, I have a nice, shapely head, save for a series of faint scars at the top of my forehead which makes me look badass. That, plus the obligatory goatee to hide my weak chin.

I keep mine at a 1 or 1.5 guard. If I don't the hair on the side of my head poofs out like bozo the clown. Gotta play the hand that's dealt ya.

2012-10-01 02:58:23 PM
I refuse to shave my head to hide my baldness. I'm not a slave to fashion. I keep it short and let the baldness show.

Hmm, what about the shaved w/trimmed beard look? (none of these are me)

My hair's not cooperated with me for quite awhile, thinning out and all. It's on thing to be thinning on top, but I've always had body-free, super thin hair. Styling products have little effect unless it's physically gluing it together. I look fine in a hat, but without the hat it pretty much goes less orderly than Nick Nolte's mugshot.

Yes, and guy who ride motorcycles are all bad asses who can, and will, kick your ass for looking at them funny.

Guys who own AR-15s are just as tough as Navy Seals.

The male ego is easily stroked.

If you have an unfortunate, potato shaped head, then it doesn't do you any favors. If you have a magnificently sculpted skull like I do, you'll find that it's a way better style than a hairline that's been receding since the 8th grade.

Meh, genes. There's about five or six of them that I know and each one started going bald late 20's to early 30's. I think it sucked worse for them because they were all metal musicians and the long hair to begin with. Plenty of other guys around here still have their flowing locks.

I had dated one back when we were both about 20; even then he had a mean receding hairline.

2012-10-01 03:02:08 PM
Many of the men I know that shave their heads want to be viewed as being tough guys. Cops and inmates are both good examples of this.
