That sucks. I understand leukemia is pretty treatable these days, so lets hope he gets better.

I will say, however, if there was a way to get a chuckle out of leukemia, subby found it.

Depends on which variety. There is the treatable chronic, and the nasty acute. Robin Roberts is undergoing treatment for acute. It is a biatch.

He has acute myeloid leukemia. Dunno what the cytogenetics are ( hoping it's not FLT-3 positive). The treatment is brutal and leaves you without a functioning immune system for weeks, if not months. Three days of an anthracycline (daunorubicin or idarubicin) along with seven days of cytarabine. If that doesn't induce remission, they'll have to go with more and more toxic reinduction regimens, up to and including bone marrow transplant.
