RG3 was impressive for sure but it's a bit too early to slap the "Legendary" moniker on him. He is definitely showing signs that he has a bright future if he manages to keep his head and limbs attached through his first couple seasons.

Besides his constant complaints about getting hit, even when it was a legal shot. Seriously, the refs must have been wanting to tell him to shaddup.

And, if you believe Santana Moss (which, I'll admit, is a bit silly), every single QB deals with in every game.

"Happens every time," Moss said after the game. "No lie. I've been in the league 12 years, I've been in plenty of games, and the home team goes, 'Oh well.' " Then he mimicked yanking an imaginary plug out of a wall.

Given the other crap Schiano has already pulled, I'd believe it.

Legen - wait for it - dary? Let's dial back the hyperbole a little bit. I'm as happy as anyone about the win, but one drive doesn't make the QB great or this team good. For a team that was up 21-6 at the half to barely eek out a 24-22 win against TAMPA BAY tells you that there are some serious problems, both on offense and defense.

2012-10-01 11:40:59 AM
RG3 did the same thing in the last two games, but the team found ways to screw up the drives. Plus, Cundiff could have still easily missed the kicked, in which case RG3 would just be a rookie QB that has come up short in three straight games...

But I have hope! Go 'Skins!

I live in DC. Every off season I get to see the ridiculous free agency aquisitions followed by retarded Redskins fans screaming, "SUPERBOWL!".

That said, RG3 is pretty awesome. He doesn't look like a rookie at all. Too bad their entire defense is injured.

Body slams are illegal, same reason the suplex was called on the vikes player who did it yesterday.

There were four or five times where RGIII turned to the umpire or the ref to complain about having been hit. I know at least two times, he was hit because he was scrambling and was tackled. He biatched to the refs when he was nearly popped for a safety. It looked like he was complaining that someone was twisting his ankle. In all of the hits I saw, I would say that only one of them seemed to be within the realm of possibly being illegal. RGIII needs to know that the more he complains, the less the refs will listen to him.

/meanwhile, in St. Louis, the regular refs are back on the job, screwing Seattle left and right again

Didn't see the Vikes, but on the RG3 play, it looked like the D was making a good tackle on a runner by clearing out his legs (and not "going after" them). The refs saw it as a scary man slowly drawing out a 7" blade and savaging the helpless QB with it, then picking up the lifeless corpse and slamming it to the ground - in front of his teary-eyed relations - repeatedly.

// shouldn't have seen laundry, but whatevs

He is, and I can't farking wait. Too bad he's not playing some coach that would spaz out, like a Harbaugh or Jim Schwartz. The only thing we can hope for is an altercation in the Oakland parking lot, that won't be on tape.

I keep thinking that someone will design a play that will go for a long score out of the victory formation. While the Bucs are diving for the ball, the runner is around the corner and scoring.

I don't think Harbaugh would care too much since he used to coach in college and it is NOT rare in college to have a team do that.

See, the thing is, it doesn't matter. The reason they're doing it is because it's their only chance to get the ball back and have a possibility of winning. Who gives a sh*t if you lose by 6 or you lose by 13? You don't get rewards for close losses.

Plus, in fairness, once he'd said that was the reason for it, it's not like he could go out and NOT do it the next week if the opportunity presented itself without taking a ton of sh*t.

Go to a game in Tampa sometime. Your 3G cell phone, which is the same tech used in Motorola headsets, likely won't work for shiat. (Mine doesn't.) So, the fact a headset might cut out when everybody in the stadium is using their phone (at the end of the games, to check fantasy scores) is OF COURSE a conspiracy. Tampa should fire everybody immediately!

Of course, nobody cried last week, when in the last drive @Dallas, Freeman's headset mysteriously died on a critical 3rd down. Instead, the commentators called him an idiot. He didn't say a word about it until he was asked by a reporter at a press conference the next afternoon. See, that's how a classy player handles a loss. How do Redskins players handle a win? They pull this shiat to give their rookie QB an even bigger head.

You mean like Dan Marino's fake-spike, TD pass, or the one Shaun King threw for the Bucs, vs. the Patriots in 1999, to an offensive lineman?

The view I had on it sure looked like he had a foot in the end zone when he got hit. I'm aware what the rule is, and my question isn't whether that would be a safety. My argument is that the knockback rule shouldn't apply because to me, his foot looks to be in the paint when he got hit.

The location of the ball determines whether it's a safety or not. his foot doesn't matter at all. And generally, they won't call a safety unless it's 100% definitely in the end zone.

For every other tackle in football, the determination is where the ball is when you're down.
