Since some South American socialist would vote for Obama, that makes Obama a socialist. Right?

2012-10-01 11:10:43 AM
Obama is running against Romney. I'd vote for a dirty sock before I'd vote for Romney; all this proves is that Chavez is not completely brain damaged.

I don't really like Chavez, and since he's not an American, his opinion on the election doesn't matter anyway, but Romney is the worst major party candidate in my lifetime.

So, that makes 1 socialist for Obama and 1 for Romney.

Glenn Beck and Michele Bachmann told me Mitt is a socialist, so it must be true.

Hugo Chavez just proved Obama is a communist marxist nazi socialist who was born in Kenya and is Muslim and Sarah Palin is automatically president.

If the comments at the illustrious Business Insider are any indication, it's no wonder things aren't so good fiscally. If these crap flinging, 'N0bama bad!' commentors are typical to those doing business in the US, it's no wonder our economy stands at the the trough steadily eating bales of dick.

All the Romney camp has to do now is run an ad showing what Chavez has done then play Chavez saying he would vote for Obama. End it with something like, "Chavez has done this, this and this and now would vote for Obama. Why would you do the same?"

Wake up, America.

You laugh, but this idea has probably already been pitched by one of Romney's highly-compensated consultants.

"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed."

The real Paul Revere story.

I had a little horse named Paul Revere
Just me and my horsy and a quart of beer
Riding across the land - kicking up sand
Sheriff's posse on my tail cause I'm in demand
One lonely Beastie I be
All by myself - without nobody
The sun is beating down on my baseball hat
The air is gettin' hot - the beer is getting flat
Lookin' for a girl - I ran into a guy
His name is M.C.A., I said, "Howdy" - he said, "Hi"

He told a little story - that sounded well rehearsed
Four days on the run and that he's dying of thirst
The brew was in my hand - and he was on my tip
His voice was hoarse, his throat was dry - he asked me for a sip
He said, "Can I get some?"
I said, "You can't get none!"
Had a chance to run
He pulled out his shotgun
He was quick on the draw - I thought I'd be dead
He put the gun to my head and this is what he said,

"Now my name is M.C.A. - I've got a license to kill
I think you know what time it is - it's time to get ill
Now what do we have here - an outlaw and his beer
I run this land, you understand - I make myself clear."
We stepped into the wind - he had a gun, I had a grin
You think this story's over but it's ready to begin

No, the country really is in bad shape for a number of Chavez related reasons mainly related to state firms being used as a political instrument. Long term, the inefficiencies introduced into PDVSA through the appointments of cronies are not sustainable and will cripple the country with excessive debt. He even nationalized cement. Who does that?

We don't have to do much.

1.) America can encourage Brazilinan energy and economic growth/policies to box Venezua in.

2.) We as Americans can develope a real solution concerning drug use in the USA. We can't stop drug importation and that is killing those countries economically with drug routes through them (I was young once, buy American, keep it mello)

3.) China is financing most infrestructure projects in Latin America ( Bridges, Roads, Shopping centers, auto manufacturing), and not because of ideological reasons. The Chinese have had so much cash to lend out its good business.

We need to finance American infrastructure growth and move our economy along and put this political bull shiat behind us

So Obama's supporters include Putin, Chavez, Hollande, Cameron, and Harper. I think there is no better example of Obama's failed foreign relations and international policies than the number of presidents and prime ministers willing to vouch for him.

Sifl and Olly managed to be on MTV-UK for several years without insulting the British. Romney managed to insult the entire country in a matter of just a few hours. If nothing else, the socks are more qualified in the field of foreign relations.

Venezuela is cool enough, it's Chavez that's a farking nutball and a despot. Sort of like how the vast majority of Iran is cool enough, the leadership kinda makes a difference.

It is beneficial to his own reelection that Mitt Romney win so he can start banging drum wars again.

That's literally the only way he can win the election. So of course he's going to try to do the little he can to get Romney elected.

So you're saying that a vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for Hugo Chavez?

And that if Obama is re-elected, Hugo Chavez will go away?

Kumana Wanalaia: So you're saying that a vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for Hugo Chavez?

Chavez is probably on the way out either way, but his one potential hail-mary pass is to play up the US president as a legitimate military threat to countries that are minding their own business... something that his people aren't really buying at the moment (they seem to have picked up on Chavez being something of a threat to democracy himself, which is why they've been gradually eroding his ability to fix elections over the last decade or so) but which might become plausible if we did some of the things Romney is suggesting, like supporting the warpath elements in Israel or bombing Iran.

So, basically, yes. If Obama is re-elected, Chavez will probably be out at or before Obama's second term. The caveat being that this is probably true Obama regardless, Venezuela is mostly just sick of his shiat, but Romney could help him stay in power by providing a more feasible cultural Enemy.

2012-10-01 11:23:38 PM
Er, at or before the end of Obama's second term. That was a word that kinda changed the whole meaning of the sentence when I left it out.
