Next film? Wrong, subby. That would be Jack Reacher the mess that became of the excellent Lee Child novel. Coming in December.

She was great in Wild Target and totally nude in My Summer of Love (her breasts are as perfect as the rest of her). Odd movie, though.

I'm really not a hater (he was the bomb in Collateral, yo) but him acting like a badass in that trailer was pretty funny.

I like Cruise most of the time, and loved Collateral, but I'm just too invested in all the Child/Reacher novels to buy him playing a 6-5, 250# bruiser.

NeoCortex42: Surool: Parallax: Surool: Before Groundhog Day there was 12:01 PM

Just watched it on YouTube, thanks for the info. Damn, that was depressing.

That was the first instance of that type of time loop story I'd ever seen. I credit it for spawning Groundhog Day AND Yesterday's Enterprise Cause and Effect... and every other copy afterwards. I'm sure somebody can point to a book that used a similar trick, but the filmed versions very closely resemble one another.

FTFY

Thank you. I am also proud that I am finally forgetting all of the episode titles!

I'd like to have the opportunity to kill Tom Cruise in a movie.

That said, I have a sad because I won't see this movie until I can see it for free because I wold never support Cruise by buying a ticket to a movie of his. The sad is for not seeing the amazingly beautiful Emily Blunt do what she does best. Or maybe 2nd best.

Love her.

Well, it was a book first, albeit by "book" in this case I mean short story by Lupoff published in the SF+F monthly. According to google this was 1973, meaning that Asimov's The End of Eternity would have beat it by about two decades (1955), albeit fast repeating loops were just referenced rather than the primary story element.

The End of Eternity is kind of the granddaddy of a lot of the loop-style time travel stories and the associated tropes. If you're fishing for recommendations on similar reading, Martian Time Slip (1964) has a similar feel and lives on the short-loop device.

Evil Mackerel: thismomentinblackhistory: This might be the perfect Cruise movie.

Only if he has an on set experience similar to Brandon Lee.

Yeah, is there any way this can be billed as "The Last Tom Cruise Movie Ever"?

This movie sounds pretty cool and I like Tom Cruise movies, could care less if he is crazy or not.

Emily Blunt was great in The Adjustment agency too.

Speaking of Emily Blunt, "Wild Target" is a fun flick.

In my best Dick Enberg voice...."Oh my!"....

GIS for "emily blunt my summer love" is quite fruitful...thank you my good man.

I don't remember any nudity in "Wild Tangent", but if you have a foot fetish, there's one scene you'll enjoy.

Well, I just downloaded and finished the book after reading this thread yesterday. Its not bad at all. Doubt itd make a good Tom Cruise movie, but would be a kick ass manga.
