dj_bigbird: How is this any different than Pelosi's declaration that they have to pass Obamacare to find out what's in it?
verbal_jizm: dj_bigbird: How is this any different than Pelosi's declaration that they have to pass Obamacare to find out what's in it?The difference is ibmn in the intention of the comment. Pelosi only meant that there was so much deep derp coming from the GOP that the truth about the ACA was being distorted. The Democrats were happy to discuss what was in the bill. Ryan, on the other hand won't tell you about the tax plan because he thinks we're too slow to understand. The difference is easy to see if you read the statements in context.
Marcus Aurelius: I think we can safely assume that his plan hoses down the middle class.
cman: Complicating the most complicated system of laws in our country is something that should be avoided. Simplifying, however, would be a welcome change.
Vodka Zombie: Well, Mr. Ryan, I can shoot lasers out of my fingertips, but you're nowhere near cool enough for me to show you. Also, my neighbor built a time machine in his basement.
dahmers love zombie: Who the hell thinks that "aww, the math is too hard for me to explain to you" is a good campaign talking point?
Relatively Obscure: I can understand how it might be too long and complicated to explain in a short little interview with Chris Wallace or whatever. But you could, you know, write it down or something.
Solchie: The math is too complicated? So basically Ryan just called the American people stupid (in a subtle way). Those of us who aren't stupid see right through your not so cunning little plan.
NewportBarGuy: Marcus Aurelius: I think we can safely assume that his plan hoses down the middle class.Eliminating the mortgage interest deduction could pay for an awful lot of awesome tax cuts!
Muta: I certainly hope the Republicans aren't complaining about 'transparency 'of the Obama administration when Romney won't share his tax returns and Ryan won't tell us what his tax plan is.
LectertheChef: Paul Ryan reminds me more and more of John Fitzgerald Page.
