Well, that's silly. Why would they falsify registrations? What's to be gained by an additional few hundred registrations?

The state Republican Party, which paid the company $1.3 million to register voters ...

Oh, there it is.

This is the same crap that got the GOP's panties in a twist about ACORN. The exact same thing. People hired to register voters that get paid based on how many registrations they bring in. So they falsify a stack of registrations and call it a day. Except in this case, it's the GOP that's paying them. And sure, we believe that the FL State Republican Party paid a company $1.3 million to register voters regardless of party affiliation, right? They just sent them out and said 'be fair! Register as many people as you can! We don't care if you register more Democrats than Republicans!'

The RNC's involvement with this character goes back years and looks to be pretty shady.

And it's more than just getting defrauded by their own employees with fake voter registrations:

Sproul got into a bit of trouble last fall when, in certain states, it came out that the firm was playing dirty tricks in order to suppress the Democratic vote: concealing their partisan agenda, tricking Democrats into registering as Republicans, surreptitiously re-registering Democrats and Independents as Republicans, and shredding Democratic registration forms.

Perhaps, but don't ever forget the GOP has an amazing talent to skate by on all of it's corruption and malfeasance unpunished. There is a hardcore 25% who will vote for them no matter what and all it takes is a some folks from center plus a few Dems to vote for the right and the Republicans are back in power.

All but outright steal two elections in a row, then keep on keeping on with your electoral/voter fraud and disenfranchisement, meanwhile claiming there must be some sort of conspiracy because there's no way a black guy can be born in the US or that Americans would vote for him. Going so far as to have a douche dressed like a pimp just make up shiat since they don't actually have any evidence.

Tampering with elections should be considered treason.

I'm not a big fan of gerrymandering either, district boundaries should be drawn programatically based on a public algorithm and data set so that third parties can validate that the boundaries drawn using only population density as a factor and not other demographic variables.

This behavior is older than the GOP itself. You could probably trace a straight line back to the people whining about the election in 1824.

Short summary: John Quincy Adams vs Andrew Jackson (vs William Crawford). Election gets decided in the House thanks to a split vote, where Crawford supporters who knew they lost voted for their second choice (Adams), who won. Jackson and his followers get supremely butthurt about it and managed to spin the narrative into "The Corrupt Bargain of 1824."

Jackson really is the prototype for the modern conservative. Crying about Washington elites when he loses, styling himself as the champion of Real Americans, ignoring court orders he doesn't like because Activist Judges, treating minorities like shiat, dismantling the central bank, whining about the press "attacking him" with accusations that happened to be true, etc.

Just for the record: Obama volunteers who canvass to register voters (and sign people up for Vote By Mail) are not paid.

I live in Iowa. Yesterday, 27 people drove in from Chicago (at their own expense) to come to our house (we made chili, pie, cake... hey, we're Iowans!) and they canvassed our neighborhood for Obama. More than 119,000 Democrats had sent requests for ballots, compared with 25,000 Republicans.

It's not and was never presented as and excuse nor as a information that would make the GOP's voter fraud excusable. It's more just picking on the GOP's hypocrisy, not anything that anyone would use as a valid argument.
