The filter results in "nubian", and it does not care if it finds a whole word or only part of a word. Hence silly filterpwnages such as "nubianrdly".

At least we know the "Attacks" in Libya and Egypt were "random protests" and a VIDEO. I mean serious guys, THAT is what our intel says despite everything and people in my own administration. So, um...What we have now is um, like a situation that is like, evolving and stuff, and despite Gov Romney being absolutely right and stuff, my media friends went all out to make that shiat a uge deal. Damn that Romney for actually knowing wat happened after everyone else figured it out. He must be racist or hates America, That snob Ann rides a horse. A HORSE. Scum.

a taxpayer subsidized prancing horse. Why should we have to pay up so The Romneys could send an extra horse's ass to London during the Olympics?

Shouldn't you be framing your Masters in Cybersecurity?

The last time Romney thought he zinged Obama (blaming Obama for "apologizing" for the embassy attacks), it backfired on him BADLY.

If Romney knows what's good for his campaign, he'll keep his mouth shut. Which means, of course, that he'll derp at full speed ahead.

AbbeySomeone: dr_blasto: Metalupis: dr_blasto: GAT_00: While snark can win votes if done right, I find it unlikely at best Romney can zing without sounding like a pompous dick.

I'm just wondering what type of booze to buy for this debate. Leaning towards vodka made from apples.

This "vodka made from apples" intrigues me. What is this wonderful sounding concoction, and how may I obtain it?

2012-09-30 12:19:10 AM
KarmicDisaster: I think that the Romney plan is to provide some FOX news soundbytes that they can use. Most FOX viewers won't actually be watching the debate, and will form their impression of it from being told what to think on FOX and Rush, backed up by clips and soundbytes of 10 seconds or less.

Hardly likely to be the debate plan, because those guys are already in the bag for Rmoney, and he knows they don't have enough votes to get him over the line.

The point of the debates has to be to convince some of the waverers that he is a viable candidate.

But Obama will obviously counter any 'zingers' with "Sorry Mitt, to be Pres, you have to have a plan. You don't have a plan, all you have is some one-liners yr script writers came up with, and yr not even very good at delivering those, are you?"

The basic failure of the Romney campaign, quite apart from all the superficial gaffes, was that believed that the weak economy was enough to get a win, so they didn't need to have any concrete plans.

So Obama will keep hammering that - "How are you going to pay for tax cuts for Sheldon and the Koch Bros? Are you going to tax the middle classes or are you going to raise the deficit? etc etc"

2012-09-30 12:22:07 AM
3_Butt_Cheeks: At least we are placated by Obamacare, which of course will NOT raise TAXES on anyone, especially the "middle class".

Duped again

Nailed it.

There was something in the article that was linked here yesterday about Cheers. I think it was george Wendt who said that after the first few seasons, they went out of their way NOT to rehearse. The best way they could keep the dialogue sounding fresh was to have as little rehearsal as possible and just be spontaneous.
Rehearsing a line for months that you may never even get a set-up for, no way it comes out sounding un-forced.

Obama can't run on his "record". Cutting the Debt like he said? (Um, no). PASSING A SIMPLE BUDGET? (lol yea right). Fast and Furious? (Duh, what?). Middle East rage (Um, yea, as soon as I get in power, them biatches will be lovin us)? Informing the enemy when we are leaving the battlefield? (um, check). Laughing about how we got suckered by "shovel ready" (bingo). Expanding Patriot Act, and being sure to keep every provision Obama's fantasyland ideologues thought would be booted out? (yikes, huh)? His endless and embarassing celebrity ass kissing tour, which was preceded by is shameful apology tour is depressing.

If the last 2 weeks (which CBS, NBC, ABC) have purposely buried a scandal of the highest magnitude doesn't at least give you pause, it is depressing knowing some people vote completely uninformed or mis-informed.

If you are a "one issue voter", make sure you know the facts (hint...ABC, NBC, CBS will NOT tell you this).

George Bush: What? That can't be right. I must have spoken for at least two minutes.

Diane Sawyer: No, just forty seconds, Mr. Vice-President.

George Bush: Really? Well, if I didn't use the time then, I must have just used the time now, talking about it.

Diane Sawyer: No, no, Mr. Vice-President, it's not being counted against you.

George Bush: Well, I just don't want it to count against Governor Dukakis' time.

Diane Sawyer: It won't. It will come out of the post-debate commentary.

George Bush: Do you think that's a good idea?

Diane Sawyer: You still have a minute-twenty, Mr. Vice-President.

George Bush: Well, more has to be done, sure. But the programs we have in place are doing the job, so let's keep on track and stay the course.

Diane Sawyer: You have fifty seconds left, Mr. Vice-President.

George Bush: Let me sum up. On track, stay the course. Thousand points of light.

Diane Sawyer: Governor Dukakis. Rebuttal?

Michael Dukakis: I can't believe I'm losing to this guy!

A politically competent candidate would have been able to restrain himself, let the situation unfold and possibly make Obama look bad. But Romney proved he lacks self-control. He was too eager to gain some points. (a rookie tell) He jumped in front of the cameras too early, focused his comments on Obama instead of the situation, and made himself look like a self-centered opportunist. Romney's move stunk of craven desperation -and- helped Obama look cool, controlled, grown-up, Presidential in comparison . I'm trying to be as polite as Peggy Noonan. Romney proved he's a Not Ready For Prime-Time Player.

Really? I think the problems Romney has simply cannot be solved in the environment of a debate. His biggest problem came at a moment when he didn't think he was on camera. He right now so much knows he's on camera that he's rehearsing moments that are supposed to come unrehearsed. The 47% moment will haunt him until the point at which another hidden camera comes out showing him refuting his 47% moment.

Of course, then he gets into the Schrodinger's Candidate issue.

Romney cannot win the election with the debates. All he can do is hope to hang on, and for that, he needs Obama to somehow act completely out of character. His real path to any possible win has to come in retail politics, a big weakness for him, and even if he figures it out, the clock is running too short for him to press enough flesh to make up the difference in time for November 6.

And if/when he doesn't figure it out, he needs a complete and total disqualifying moment to hit Obama. As in, Barack punching Michelle in the face or something.

And every day from here on in that he fails to have.... whatever it is that he needs to have happen happen, votes are starting to lock in.

Really, if I'm Romney's advisor, I tell him pretty bluntly that he's basically screwed; that the pieces in place are such that all he can do is hope for something extraordinarily lucky to happen, and to just start trying to save the downballot races.

Taunting a world class troll effectively takes a natural skill set that Romney just doesn't seem to have. Teasing it with pointy jabs that your buddies thought had the making of a real row will only make it smile back at you from the dark cover of its bridge. A good troll knows his bridge and its faults better than anyone and knows how to make you feel good about the path you choose.

I wish mittens luck on his path, but I'm afraid that is leads under Obama's bridge.

Lacks self control? You see some kind of pattern here?

Gain some points is kinda what politics is.

Notabunny: focused his comments on Obama instead of the situation, and made himself look like a self-centered opportunist.

Obama and is cronies lied from the beginning, and made it much much worse for themselves without much reason in doing so. Despite the mental masterbation of the media, Romney was spot on.

Not really, it was clear, concise, and correct. Being rigt is not 'desperate'.

Obama continues is fail tour, trying vocal ninjitsu to deflect from an unemployment rate still over 8%, and crashing economy, tax hikes with obamacare, failed cronyism, and a middle east ripping apart depite his 'neutrailty' with Egypt and Syria, while Iran arms everyone.
