It's the only NBC show I look forward to watching.

Yep. It's the only NBC show I currently have on my DVR.

Even though Grimm is on NBC and Once Upon a Time is on ABC, I would like to see a crossover.

Could it be that FINALLY people are getting tired of yet another show about farking lawyers? Get rid of the doctors and cops and maybe TV will be worth watching.

....well after and the reality tv and game shows are gone of course.

If you say so.

Haven't seen it yet, but Last Resort was really good. I hope they can keep it going.

I'm so glad Hank is in on everything now. Nick having to hide everything from him was getting old. But they need to do something with Juliette. Turn her evil, kill her, whatever. Her character was more interesting when she was in a coma.

Um... doesn't Grimm sorta qualify as a cop show?

Revolution is an interesting concept that will fail miserably.

Technically I suppose but it's not the "let's analyze the DNA we found on the semen we collected after enhancing the resolution on the zoomed in image from the traffic cam and match that with the face recognition software from our worldwide database" procedural cop show horsehit. Or at least it's a variation on it.

Last Resort is surprisingly good. The concept is so strong that even major network generic meddling couldn't kill it. Revolution is better than that Land of the Lost reboot thing Spielberg tried.

Since Friday nights are usually where networks put successful shows to go and die, I wonder how they will try to kill Grimm off? Maybe move it to Sunday afternoons opposite football?

/CNBC would be another likely choice

No shiat, I was hoping they would do with her as they did with Hank. They've now had 5 episodes with her "acting" even more clueless than before... She's a total waste, at this point.

Love Grimm. Would love to see what the writers could do with it on HBO or Showtime, though. Take the training wheels off and let the twisted sickness fly. You can tell they want to.

Last Resort is off to a good start. It seems like a great one-season show. I know it's still really early, but I don't know if I see several seasons out of it.

Revolution is a good premise that just wasn't that interesting in execution. It will meet the same fate as FlashForward and The Event.

I agree with this. All of the characters are cardboard cutouts so far. Though I did like Uncle Miles calling her out on her hyper-familial attitude.

Grimm must have improved because I watched the first eight or so episodes last year and thought it sucked major ass. Bad acting, stupid stories, horrible effects.

Are you people suggesting it is worth revisiting?

I gave the pilot a shot, but I made a promise to myself before watching it. If this episode ends with some mysterious person turning on a lightbulb, I'm done.

If it gets renewed for a second season and has good reviews after the first one, I might give it another shot.

It's not good when a show about fairy tale creatures and a magical policeman is too implausible.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. I gave it a go because I like fairy tales. Could not care less about this show, and each episode just seemed the same as the last with a slight shift in the baddie of the week.

The ending of the pilot was annoying for any number of reasons. I said I'd give it one or two more episodes, tops. I gave V way too much time because of Morena Baccarin.

I agree about characters on Revolution sucking, though. I don't know if it's acting, script, or direction, but it always looks like they cast a bunch of people who otherwise look attractive but can't act worth a damn. Last Resort, for example, you've got people who are actually interesting characters, several who are very good veteran actors...and it comes off professional. Revolution, there's only one person I like on the show, maybe one other decent actor, and they kill at least one person who can act to start while sparing the supermodel looking actors who can't pull their weight in a scene (no pun intended).

I get the feeling a lot of these shows want to be Lost (ooooh it's all a mystery!!) but the truth is, you shouldn't spend a whole season or more hiding whatever Illuminati are behind the scenes. Just get to it, show both sides of the story.

This. Hopefully, the good ratings from Grimm help Community. Isn't Grimm supposed to air right after it?

The only thing that worries me about that Friday night schedule is having Whitney be the first show in the block. I can see that farking with the ratings.

I tried to get into it but was too sanitized for my tastes. Seemed like a decent show to watch with slightly older kids, though.

I think it's fun. Monroe is an awesome character. I guess I'm also a bit biased because I live in Portland and I enjoy location spotting.

Serialized dramas are always tricky. Since Lost went off the air I think the only other one that's really lasted is Fringe.

I liked it better when it was called Supernatural. We've already had a monster-of-the-week show, we can try something else now. I have a friend who's a forensic technician, and some of the stuff he's done sounds pretty cool. Maybe they could make a show based off of his stories.

I have to ask about the logistics of 'not having seen something' and yet declaring it 'really good'?

As for Grimm: coworker loves it, but we have wildly diverging tastes (almost universally everything I like he hates, everything he likes I hate). I picked up a single episode somewhere in the middle of the first season (hey, I don't have cable (please don't hipster me, it's 100$ a month and fark that internet's free) so I was watching at someone else's house), and it wasn't the best show in the world, but it wasn't offensively terrible either. I could see the characters getting a bit tiresome though.

And don't kill all the procedurals! Leave 1 or 2, prefferably the ones that aren't 'raping science with a dinocock' bad. I like some criminal procedurals for the few times I get TV access.

I agree. The show's been getting better as it goes along but I sometimes wonder how twisted they could make things if it ran on a cable channel.

Does anyone else think David Giuntoli (the actor who plays the lead - Nick Burckhardt) would also make a good Clark Kent?

Surprisingly, they're alright. The tiresome bit as that the writers feel the need to invent a whole new species of critter for every episode, and don't really go in depth about most of them. Too much freak of the week.

It got marginally better over the rest of the season, but I still wouldn't call it a good show. It's good for a Friday night show, but that's about it.

Once Upon a Time, however, is just shiat. shiat shiat shiat.

Last Resort is only good if you've never been a hundred feet near a military base. Otherwise, you would be going, "Oh, come on, really?" every five minutes.

I watched "Homicide" here and there when it was originally on and in reruns. Then about 10 years later, on the recommendation of a friend, I picked up the book on which it was based, by a cops reporter at The Sun named David Simon.

Yes, that David Simon. The same friend recommended "The Wire" to me, so I watched it.

And then, shortly after that, I saw "Homicide" reruns on TV again. It was so weird. it was like a PG-13 version of "The Wire." I saw a lot of the same actors, a lot of the recurring themes and even some of the jokes (the colander and copy machine used as a lie detector).

Homicide really was high quality TV. And no one ever did black comedy as well as Homicide. Holy crap, they would be in the middle of a city wide red ball, the shiat hitting the fan and lives on the line, and Yaphet Kotto's character would be delivering deadpan lines about "there being jelly donuts in the building". dammit I loved that show.

the actor that plays Michael Westen in 'Burn Notice' was in an all time classic 'Homicide' episode. crap on a cracker, i really do have to buy the farking Box Set.

Andre Braugher - one of the most under-rated actors on TV, is in a new series this fall. excellent.

If ratings meant a show were worth watching, the various CSIs would be masterpieces.
