"Independent Journal "in this case must be like a Fark Independent.

Another camouflaged Blaze article, sigh.

I wonder if it's just one person who keeps doing that.

And in what shouldn't come as a shock at all, a wing-nut blog reports a totally bogus story and cites another wing-nut blog as it's source.

Even the premise of the article is silly. One anonymous caller who was likely a Romney campaign worker says he was just being nice so the video must have been altered.

The stench of desperation is becoming overpowering.

I listened to the "unedited" CSPAN video and it still sounds like they were chanting Ryan.

2012-09-29 12:08:50 PM
Because, they were.

2012-09-29 12:10:39 PM
They are actually accusing MSNBC of altering the tape?

Wow.

Well of course it does. Only the rabid wingnuts would believe that when Romney comes up to the mike and says what a great guy Ryan is, that the crowd would chant Romney instead of Ryan.

So am I to understand that Ryan has a hard time exciting right-wingers who are so politically active they come to political rallies?

Well, yeah, we know that it's Romney that really fires up the base. Ryan is sort of a wet blanket.

I'm starting to think I can't trust Glenn Beck.

Then, the audience allegedly begins to chant 'Ryan! Ryan!'... however, it appears as if Mitt tells them to chant, 'Romney/Ryan!, Romney/Ryan!' What a selfish thing to do, right? That's what MSNBC wants you to think.

Um, no. I watched the MSNBC video. Clearly the crowd is chanting "Ryan" because he just finished speaking, and Romeny, you know, the guy who is running for president, redirects them to chant "Romney/Ryan" because he is, you know, THE FU(KER RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT after all.

And can't stand to have them chant someone else's name while he's up there.

Same here. I listened to the CSPAN version three times. Sounded like "Ry-An! Ry-An! Ry-An!" every time.

There's idiocy and then there's making a point and then linking to a video that completely discredits your point idiocy.

OK. so we're expected to believe that an event attended by hundreds of R/R supporters, which hit the news cycle on TUESDAY of this week and has been, for the last four days, making the Republican candidate look like the boorish fool that he is, is in fact fake.

And nobody from the Romney campaign, nor the attending crowd, came forward on Tuesday to challenge it.
Or Wednesday.
And on Thursday, some random fark calls in to GLENN BECK and says "no, it didn't happen that way". And the Romney campaign said NOthing.
And on Friday, they said NOthing.
And on Saturday, it shows up on a Blaze clone site. And we're supposed to smack our hand against our head and say "Of course! I can clearly hear it now! Right after Paul Ryan gave a speech, the crowd began chanting "ROMNEY...ROMNEY..." and our kind-hearted GOP candidate had to correct them.

It's no secret that the media has been gunning for Mitt since the moment he posed a threat to Obama's reelection chances.

Yeah, these guys sound totally "independent".

2012-09-29 04:47:29 PM
Also listened to the video. I'm on my phone so I'll admit it's not totally clear what they're saying, but if I had to pick one it sounds more like Ryan to me.

2012-09-29 04:47:52 PM
I saw the video on Morning Joe, and it did sound like the crowd was chanting "Ry-an!", and Romney corrected them to "Romney-Ryan!".

But apparently everyone in this thread ripping on the Blaze missed this line at the bottom of the article:

Even another media source, the New York Times, tells the same tale as those who where there, adding more credibility to those who are coming forward.

From the NYT article: After Mr. Ryan whooped up the crowd in Vandalia on Tuesday, Mr. Romney moved to the front of the stage. As the crowd began chanting "Romney! Romney!" he cut them off."Wait a second," Mr. Romney said, instructing the audience to cheer for "Romney-Ryan! Romney-Ryan!" They did.

"There we go," he said, pleased.

I don't really care to white-knight for Mitt Romney, but this needed to be pointed out.

the NYT person was wrong. they didn't change their chant. they just went quiet.

The Romney campaign would never..... EVER....... Distort reality....... They are both liars and they deserve public mocking

I listened to both clips, eyes shut, and It sounded like both with a majority "Ryan"

Um, no.

There's no question at the beginning of the CNN clip the crowd is chanting 'Ryan', switching to a lukewarm 'Romney-Ryan' after Mitt gets all diaper-rashy. HIS CORRECTION MAKES NO SENSE OTHERWISE. My opinion is shifting from "remorseless liars" to "seriously crazy".

Oh, that clearly negates the whole thing, then.

Even if it was true, it doesn't explain why Ryan is standing there looking like someone just shoved a cactus up his ass.

"Altering", in this case, meaning "putting the tape in and pushing play".

He clearly emphasized the 'Romney' when speaking to the crowd, as if to make sure they understood what to add in...otherwise he'd have emphasized the 'Ryan.'

Anyway, it's obvious to everyone what actually took place.

According to the witnesses, the MSNBC video was captioned incorrectly...

Wow, then MSNBC must have some cutting edge captioning devices, because I just played this for my wife withut letting her see the screen at all, and she reports she heard 'Ryan, Ryan...'.

Besides, it's not Mitt putting his name in that made the news. It's the chirping crickets when he said 'Let's make it Romney, Ryan'.

What a quivering bucket of bullshiat.

That's funny, because I've gone the other way. I used to think they were mostly crazy and/or stupid, but now I think they know exactly what they're doing - they're simply evil.

I watch quite a few MSNBC shows and NONE of them claimed that Romney was being selfish. You know how they reacted after showing that clip? Here's the actual reaction:

mrc-tv.s3.amazonaws.com

Seriously. I believe Scarborough just said something like "oh my, sweet Jesus". They're not trying to paint Romney as a bad guy, they're just honestly dumbfounded by how bad his campaign is being run.
