D_Evans45: Nay my friend, it is a Stone brand beer, not a general description of a beer style. And my goodness, is it wonderful.

Blech... Stone beers are sooooo hoppy. Undrinkable for me.
This is more my style:

I've seen this pic before and have to say it's bullshiat that's clearly been manipulated in favor of the US. I'm living in Germany right now and can go to the grocery store and buy a decent 500mL bottle of beer for ~35 eurocents, which is less than $0.50 USD. $1.90? Not even at a gas station.

Came to say this. The $1.25 listed for the Czech Rep is the price in the pub. Grocery store price is $0.35 a .5L bottle. If you want to scrape the bottom of the barrel, you can get beer where the $0.15 bottle deposit is more than the beer itself.

In that case, US pub prices start at $2 and probably average around $3-$4 depending on the area.

I actually spotted it at a pub last night, but I passed on the IPA (not my style) and went for the Stone Porter instead. That's some good stuff!

Aww, the hops are the best part, Gawdzilla. Turns out, Stone also a couple really good beers that arent too hoppy. IIRC the Levitation was fantastic and wasnt uber hoppy. Also the Old Guardian is technically a barleywine, but so much more delicious than any other barleywine Ive seen attempted. The 2nd best Stone offering behind Cali-Beligique, IMO, just plain out delicious beer, and she packs like 12-13% abv with no alcohol taste.

The Porter is great with food, man I love porters with food. And stout right after a meal. Mmmmmm. Beer is farking delicious.
