MHudson: How weird is it I pop on GOG right after seeing this and Carmageddon is plastered on the front?
MarkEC: I wonder what the cost difference is in bridges replaced in 53 hours vs. bridges in PA that take months.A small 2 lane bridge over a 10 foot wide creek near me took almost a year to complete. It's a nice little bridge, and will probably last for 200 years.
Markoff_Cheney: lords of the realm and masters of magic ftw.
Shadow Blasko: There are a LOT of people in this thread confusing Carmageddon with Carmageddon 2, carpocalypse now. Both excellent games. C2 was awesome
foxyshadis: Markoff_Cheney: lords of the realm and masters of magic ftw.Oh man, Master of Magic. I know everyone else went nuts over Master of Orion or Civilization, but despite the bugs MoM had just the right combination of tactics and fantasy to enthrall young me.Plus you could save scum the fark out of it. I'm pretty certain that's the only way to beat it, after endless failed campains attempting to be good..../DosBox and now VirtualBox have been some of my best friends for years.
Brick-House: LA... isn't it always this this???[orientalredneck.blogspot.com image 500x323]
Close2TheEdge: Still wish somebody would remake this on a new engine with state of the art graphics. Awesome game.[www.thegamerverse.com image 850x637]
ZeroCorpse: Close2TheEdge: Still wish somebody would remake this on a new engine with state of the art graphics. Awesome game.[www.thegamerverse.com image 850x637]Isn't that Vigilante 8? I'm pretty sure there have been sequels and remakes as recently as last year, on various systems-- Usually in the "Arcade" or "Indie" section of the console's store, instead of as a mainstream title.
Mister Peejay: cryinoutloud: You silly urbanites. Around here it's open roads, blue skies, and Aaauuuuuu, look out!![lh4.googleusercontent.com image 640x427]Beef Curtains! I loved that level./MmooooooOOO!!!
Mr_Ectomy: city officials have been encouraging Southern Californians to get out and enjoy their own neighborhoods on foot, on bikes or via short drives on surface streets.BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, you were serious?Have you seen L.A. Story? When Steve Martin gets into his car to drive one door down? That.
Uncle Tractor: By the way ...

The Amazing Rando!: Uncle Tractor: By the way ...It's coming...Carmageddon: Reincarnation
foxyshadis: In this situation, the bridge is already built, it's just installed in 53 hours, beginning with the demolition.
I. R. Rottweiler: macadamnut: [upload.wikimedia.org image 200x337]Steve Jackson FTW!This and Ogre kept me and my friends busy many a day./ One Cadillac with double recoilless rifles please
W.C.fields forever: Earlier this year ,They did 1 side of the bridge(west to east??) in 53 hours.Anyway, I watched the KTLA news that next monday, and the ignorant newscasterreported 'how AMAZING it was that they finished both bridges in 53 hours'.// Uninformed twunt
Roook: I loved that game. The car physics were awesome and the recording function made it so much fun. I watched my car get flattened and dragged around the race course multiple times. Also the little touches, like breaking into the stadium and running over the entire football team and cheerleaders. Or the zoo and running over the penguins (who'd cover their eyes before you smashed into them). And the final level sent you to hell. The entire track had you driving up and down a giant Satan who was at a computer desk playing Carmageddon, ignoring the car-nage going on his shoulders and around his mousepad (lol get it car-nage soo funny)
