Looks like a lot of fun.

Why in world do people have to put such terrible music(in my opinion anyway) on videos like this?

I get the impression from the signage that it was only after the owners acquired the land, carved the track, poured the concrete and bought the carts that they realized "OH SHIAT THIS IS A LUGE OHSHIATOHSHIATOHSHIAT LIABILITEEEEEEEE"

Not that anyone should care, but okay, well

the luge ride itself made me think jeans are probably better than shorts.

the music didn't seem so horrible

your comments about the music finally gave me a reason to see if soundhound will work on bluestacks and the answer is ... YES!

So thank you subby, and thank you all!

I'll wear jeans, thank you. Shorts doesn't seem like the wise choice.

KidneyStone: ltdanman44: where is one in america

There used to be something very similar at Vernon Valley in New Jersey. Instead of a road/path it was a fiberglass half pipe and you could go crazy fast on that thing.

I still vividly remember when my brother came up to fast behind me and knocked me off my sled. Felt like a slid a mile down that damned pipe and I had friction burns from my knee all the way to my head. That was over 30 years ago I can still remember getting in the shower...YEOOOOWOWWW! The f**ker still laughs about it lololol

This picture doesn't convey how fast you could really go on those sleds.

There is a similar setup in Galena, Illinois. It has two parallel tracks leading down to the Mississippi River. My wife (then girlfriend) and I decided to have a friendly race to the bottom, and I quickly found out that her lighter weight was a distinct advantage. Never one who likes to lose, I let up completely on the brake, hit a curve, and went flying. I was able to get up and laugh about it, but as the adrenaline wore off, I realized that that big, bloody patch on my knee hurt like hell. I think it was the first time I ever realized that I am mortal.

All that being said, it was a HELL of a lot of fun!

We would have to kill all the lawyers first, not that that is a bad thing.

The old concrete one they took out about 15 years ago was exactly like the one KidneyStone is talking about. Last time I was on it was 1982 and crashes were common. Looking back it must have been a tort lawyer's wet dream.

Nope. I've been down this ride on numerous occasions. Absolutely incredible fun, but the maximum speed you hit would be in the range of 40-60kph. Jeans are definitely a better idea than shorts, however it's not as dangerous as it looks. Unless you're like my brother and I when we race against each other of course, then all bets are off.

Yes, it looked fun.

But, I judge a man by the shoes he wears.

The same NZ company installed the same luge tech at the Skyline Luge at Mont Tremblant near Montreal, Canukistan.

In NZ you can't sue for things like that. We have state paid accident and injury insurance. It is just great..... and fark the lawyers.... fark them in the ear. If things get to out of control the state will jump on the owners through health and saftey legislation.

However if you hurt yourself in car crash.... covered. Hurt yourself playing rugby......covered. Hurt yourself going warp factor twenty on the Rotorua .......breaks are for pussies luge...... covered.

By the the mountain biking in Rotorua is great. It is tourist town but there is heap of great cheap or free fun for locals and tourists in the town!

I remember going on one in Queechee, Vermont. I hope it's still there. Such fun!

Cool video, but the music made me expect it to be an ad for a quirky Web 2.0 site.
