Whoa, come on, you're twisting his words! All he meant was that Akin was really going to get his base fired up before the election.

You learn a lot about Republicans when they compare their leaders to people they admire and respect.

Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway compared the situation of Akin, her longtime client, to notorious cult leader David Koresh

Good lord. She works for him.

Let me repeat:

She WORKS for him.

I thought that around that time conservatives were saying that the whole Waco raid was an unjust intrusion on private land, or something of that nature and coming out on the side of Mr. Koresh.

They also lumped it in with Ruby Ridge. Which was, of course, Clinton's fault (even though it happened under GHWB).

/Conservatives aren't smart, did I mention that?

Well, he does look like an unrepentant kiddie diddler that's for certain.

I guess I learn something new every day: Today I learned that in bat shiat crazy, herpa derpa land that David Koresh is something of a hero, a person to be admired, some one that other conservatives should strive to imitate.

Is there no end to the stupidity? Those sure are some "unladylike" comments by Akin's publicist.

So basically "I'm not saying Todd Akin is like David Koresh, but Todd Akin is like David Koresh."

2012-09-29 04:56:33 AM
David Koresh is the first point of reference that comes to mind when considering Todd Akin's situation? Really? There is no context in which this is a good thing.

What's really disturbing about all this is that the republicans are so overwhelming obsessed about dominating our country that they are even willing to support someone as vile as Akin. They've completely lost their freaking minds here.

And what's worse is that there are still those who will vote for this guy even when they know what sort of psycho he is.

It's even stupider than that.

The pollster said that the US government started the fires in the Waco compound with the intent of forcing the people to come out.

Unless I'm very mistaken about what happened in Waco, this guy has just beaten Akin himself in the dumb comment race (especially because his comment implies that he *agrees* with Akin's stupid comments).

2012-09-29 05:17:29 AM
UPDATE: 4 p.m. -- Conway told The Huffington Post that she did not mean to compare the two men. "My comparison was to the tactics used to push Akin from the race, not to the men involved," she wrote in an email. "I would never compare David Koresh to Todd Akin."

Akin spokesman Ryan Hite told the St. Louis Dispatch that Conway's comment "was a stupid comment to make."

Shoot first, aim second.

"This is just like the time Josef Goebbels compared Hitler to Moses, and Hitler went all batshiat on him."

Akin posters always make me chuckle; the one's by the lefties (like me) are pretty hilarious. The one's by the 'puglicons still in the toilet for this turd not so much chuckling as a compliment. More of the chuckle you do when the little retarded boy asks for a penny. That 45-47% of the people in this country fall for their horse pucky just astonishes me.

The day after Akin made the "legitimate rape" remark "was like the Waco with David Koresh situation, where they're trying to smoke him out with the SWAT teams and the helicopters and the bad Nancy Sinatra records," Conway told Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on the "Washington Watch Weekly" radio show. "Then here comes day two, and you realize the guy's not coming out of the bunker. Listen, Todd has shown his principle to the voters."

Oh my, they really ARE in a different reality than the rest of us, aren't they?

The whole point is, Akin isn't "vile" to the sort of people who vote Republican these days. He's a patriot. It's that sort of willing blindness to reality that convinces me that Republicans really ought to be rounded up and put in reeducation camps, for their own good.

What tickled me most about this piece was this:

"My comparison was to the tactics used to push Akin from the race, not to the men involved," she wrote in an email. "I would never compare David Koresh to Todd Akin."

I don't know about you guys, but when I am comparing someone to a reference point, the reference point comes second. "I would never compare Shrub/Fartbongo to Hitler". Her quote makes it sound like she admires Koresh and would never compare him to such a reprehensible figure as Todd Akin.

Koresh stood up to the government in defense of the religious freedoms of his church. He fought the law; he's a regular Sonny Curtis.

Round them up? You're making this too complicated.

Rename the re-education camps "Freedom Bunkers." They'll fight each other to be the first in.
