desertgeek: Considering they haven't even played all 18 holes in a match yet, send them out again. Phil can be held off until a later match tomorrow if necessary.

In 3 matches, they're yet to play 18, and have played 16 and 17 only once. I think you have to ride the momentum of that pairing as long as it's working. A good finish to the morning and a strong afternoon makes the singles a lot easier anyway.

rka: The sarcastic "Ole, Ole, Ole" chant was a nice touch.

I think they are singing "Away, away, away, away", which makes it even more awesome.

I followed Sergio and Freddy Couples at the International one year, back when they used to still have it here in CO. Always kind of liked him, even though he's been an ass for most of his career.

Cherry Hills?

I played there once from the tips

Went par, par....trainwreck

Yanks_RSJ: Bubba and Webb would be better off putting with a log at this point. They've been awful on the greens

Particularly Webb. Not his best round in general.

Furyk is striking it pretty well today and when Furyk putts first I think he feels he can be pretty aggressive because Snedeker is virtually never going to miss whatever the leave is. I can see why Love paired them.

I really hope Love backs off the "no one's playing all five" given how crazy the FIGJAM/Death Stare team has been. Hell, they can't be tired, they basically each only played 1/3 of a round this morning.

International was usually at Castle Pines with that goofy Modified Stableford scoring system, IIRC.

I played that course right next to castle pines a couple times. Don't recall the name but I think it was owned by the guy who started Remax and only used for charity events.

Cherry Hills is deemed to short to hold PGA tour stops these days. Senior, Amateur and LPGA still go there though. This was back when the International was at Castle Pines.

Maybe Rory and Tiger can play each other tomorrow for the title of the biggest choker for their team.

That be the one.

Legend was that the owner couldn't get a membership at Castle Pines so he built his own course right next to it. The club house and locker rooms were beautiful but had no members.

If we're talking the weakest links, Westwood has been far and away the worst guy out there for either side.

Jesus Christ, NBC, it's 2012 and you can't keep your feed up for 30 seconds?

I don't think I've seen make a putt outside of four feet yet.

Rich Harvest Farms (where I think they played some sort of pre-Ryder event, and played the Solheim Cup a few years back) has a membership policy of "you can join if Jerry Rich invites you." That place is crazy. The bunkers don't have rakes in them, not visibly anyway -- they're hidden in some sort of underground slot and the caddy goes and hits a button and the rake pops out.

Great job, NBC. It's not like this is a crucial part of the morning session or anything.

2012-09-29 12:15:51 PM
Terrible, NBC. Did someone shoot down their satellite? Because it's not like there's anything blocking the signal beamed from Chicago/suburbs right now, it's about as perfect a day as you can get.

Yeah. That's always been the story. I don't think it's true though. Dave Liniger, the Re/Max owner *lives* (or at least lived) in Castle Pines right off one of the fairways so I can't imagine he'd have trouble getting a membership there too.

Golf course was designed by Jim Engh who has a few courses around the state including Fossil Trace in Golden CO. I'm playing there on Saturday. H also did a course up in Bismarck ND (Hawktree) that I played this summer.

I used to belong to the Greeley Country club. That was a very nice track with some of the best greens I've ever putted on.

I think Jason Sobel just said it best on twitter:

Longest hitter on the team laying up on drivable par-4 when losing? And finding the rough? Yup, there's you microcosm for the week, Europe.

I thought it was pretty lame when Bubba laid up for the US down 2 also, although they may yet steal a half point out of that match.

Make one putt today, Webb.

not

Euros juggling things around quite a bit, looking for some spark it seems.

And no surprise, Westwood and GMac are deservedly grabbing some bench for the Euros.

Well, at least DLIII is a man of his word. But I still don't like it one bit. You just hope that things stay as is for this morning and then you only really need 2 pts this afternoon. If so, USA will need only 4.5 pts tomorrow to win it.

I would have rather seen them throw keegan and Bubba back ouy there, but would still have prefered Phil and keegan.

Sit Tiger again and leave him off future RCs. He simply sucks in this format.

He probably told Tiger exactly what Fred Couples told Golf Channel - nobody will play 5 matches. So now he doesn't want to piss him off.

So had Phil until Keegan Bradley. Just goes to show how quick things can turn around.

And Colsaerts dunks any momentum from Sergio's chip-in right in Lake Kadijah.

At the same time, Tiger isn't stupid. He probably knows how those two have been doing and wouldn't be mad about riding the hot hands at the expense of breaking a promise.

Yeah, given the number of holes Keegan/Phil have played - I'd say this is a mistake by DLIII. Neither of them has played the 18th in a match setting yet this week, that could actually be a detriment tomorrow.

Yeah, who didn't see that not dropping?
