Looks like anyone on the pirates hoping for a big contract after the season is over won't be getting any d'oh.

It's not a losing season yet. They could still break even.

They won't, but theoretically they could.

I hope. But what happened to the Phils the year Halladay pwned the Reds with a playoff no-hitter? They went home early.

I'm just happy the national sports hype machine is all pants-wetty about the Nationals and various AL teams and pretty much leaving the Reds alone.

Eh, if the Cards want to repeat, they'll have to do what no one's done this year: Beat the Braves when Kris Medlen starts.

It isn't the no-hitter we are blase about. It is the Reds.

Almost 2 no-hitters yesterday. Orioles gave up a bunt single to the first batter of the game, which was Boston's only hit of the game.

Does this even count because outside of AJ Burnett, the Pirates have clearly quit?

Gee, and to think the Reds announcers were biatching about the error called on Rolen in the 2nd.

It could be because there have been 16 of them in the last three seasons and it seems like just about any pitcher could do it on any given night now (Philip Humber? Really?)

I'm a Dayton Dragons (Reds A club) season ticket holder and get to watch all these guys come up (Votto, Bruce, Bailey, et al). My seats used to be a couple rows off the field close to the bullpen mound (since then, have moved closer to third base on the home team side). I used to watch Bailey pitch less than 10 feet away from me when he was warming up. What is a little strange, is I never thought his body would hold up. He had the thinnest ankles of anybody I saw - looked like twigs. But, that's why I'm in the stands getting drunk and someone else is getting paid millions of dollars getting guys like Homer on the field.

About right. Hell Fister broke the AL record with 9 strikeouts in a row and I'm not sure it even made it to Fark.

Cincy/Baltimore World Series.

Ugh.. Yankees have had bases loaded, no outs twice.. once in the first (and only scored two runs on two sac flies) and again in the third (and came up empty).

It's the farking Jays people, you should be rolling over them.. you HAVE to, especially since it's apparent the Red Sox aren't even going to try against the O's.

Notes for today, the Rangers will clinch a spot with a win over the Angels.. the Yankees can too if they win and the Rangers beat the Angels.

Haven't scored since getting two sac flies with bases loaded, no outs in the first..
absolutely nothing to show for it again in the 3rd..
two caught stealings and a lost DH since..
losing 3-2 to the farking Jays.

Awesome.

Could you explain how his record is 9-1?
Was it those replacement refs?

Hell yeah. Last year was awesome not only because they won the world series, but also because they took the most difficult road to get there.

What a fitting way for the Pirates to wrap up a 20th straight season of fail.

He's only been starting since the end of July, it looks like. The team is 11-0 (with him getting 8 of those wins) since then in his games.

They come and go. There were a ton of them in 1990 and 1991 too. And they're more about luck than skill; the 90-91 binge included Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson but it also featured Wilson Alvarez and Tommy Greene.

I'll explain it to you.

He gave up a run while he was a relief pitcher, which cost us a game.

However, he is undefeated as a starter in 2012.
