I clicked expecting scenes from comic books being paid homage in otherwise unrelated movies.
Scenes from comic books being put in cinema adaptation of those SAME comic books.. is not being "snuck in".

I want my click back.

Comic book movies... based on comic books?!?! I'm shocked.

Seriously, somebody was surprised to learn about this phenomenon?

Here's one that was actually snuck in:

Captain America movie:

Yeah the original Human Torch cameo was genius. That's a real Easter egg. So of course it didn't make the article.

And yes, I know that Human Torch appeared in Marvel Comics #1, but I can't get the image to link.

Well duh. The comics are the storyboards. Saves development costs.

A case could be made that Sin City broke Rodriguez's brain. There is no other excuse for The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D

Or it could be because he makes those kind of movies to finance the kind of movies he wants to make

Part of the normal process of creating a movie is called "Story boarding" where you compose the camera shots in sketches so you know what you need to film.

It looks a lot like a rough draft of a comic book.

Sin City was pretty much a panel for panel recreation, it was supposed to be. Except Jessica Alba didn't get naked. :(

Minus a few pages, The Watchmen was damn near exactly like the graphic novel.

You mean "Sin City" used panels from the comic book as storyboards? This shocks me, especially after every single publicity stint for the movie said they used panels from the comic book as storyboards. That's some fine detective work there, Lou.

No, this is even worse than usual. Referencing the very comic the movie is about? What an utterly shocking development!

Get this. There was a scene in "Iron Man" in which Tony Stark - are you still listening - PUT ON THE IRON MAN SUIT
