(NFL)   Vick stat correction changes the outcome of 6,239 fantasy football matchups. Nice to see that the NFL found jobs for those replacement refs so quickly   (blogs.nfl.com) divider line 30

Can we correct his passing attempts down a little?

Thanks.

That looked like a sack to me.

Hard to tell what is going on there. Half the o-line stays behind the line of scrimmage, but one guy is way the fark out in front and would result in an ineligible man downfield penalty if it is supposed to be a pass play. The receivers are either giving the effort of Randy Moss on a run play or faking it very well. Based on the back calling for the ball after clearing the line, I'm guessing it was a play action screen, meaning sack. Regardless, what a stupid play.

If you're the QB, behind the line of scrimmage, and have receivers downfield looking at you when you get tackled for a loss - it's a sack.

Isn't any tackle behind the line of scrimmage still a sack? This stat change is more about it being a run instead of a pass, I think. [I might be wrong!]

I just looked at the stat correction in my league. They took away the points from Vick for the run, but Arizona kept the points for the sack.

Looking at Yahoo, this sack was taken away...but they added a 0 yard sack about 2 minutes earlier in the game. So Arizona would've evened out, but IDP would've seen a change.

I did not play Torrey Smith for the second week in a row. This decision was wrong for the second week in a row. FML

I sat him last week because I thought he would go to be with his family. I didn't make that mistake this weekend.

I sat him in favor of Miles Austin playing against Chicago, figuring that Dallas has had trouble running the ball and won't be able to do so against the Bears good run defense. So they will throw the ball a lot and Austin is their ace WR. Now I am a front runner for the Snickers dumbass of the week award in my league.

I sat him 2 weeks ago because I thought Miles Austin was gonna light it up, I sat him yesterday because I forgot to change my lineup.

I said it in the game thread last night, but sit Torrey in any game at your own peril. In this offense he's going to get at least 4 deep targets per game, and all it takes is one or two connections to produce a solid WR score. Admittedly I'm a homer on this, but I think he's gotten to the point where he's an automatic start unless you're absolutely stacked at the position.

I have Steve Smith (Car), Dwayne Bowe, and Stevie Johnson starting. Above when I said Miles Austin, i meant Dwayne Bowe.

In my other league I swapped Austin for Brandon Lloyd, which cost me 3 points, which when you lose by 13.18 seems to matter more. No, the dumbass play of the week was Brandon Marshall instead of Welker. That 13.1 point switch would have me losing by .08 pts. FML

My sympathy for the fantasy football players damaged by this is tempered by the fact that they were, in fact, starting ole Dawg Killah himself. Face it, you guys got bitten by a mangy mutt.

It's been a while since I did the FF thing, but let me see if I can remember what lame/impossible advice I'm supposed to give for this one...

Oh, yeah! Find some sucker in your league to trade you a stud RB for two of those wideouts! :D

Weird. I'm in Yahoo as well, and there are only corrections for Vick, Tebow, and the MIA defense.

7 rows down, you see that Sam Acho now gets credit for a sack in the second quarter, 14:30 left. The next line, Daryl Washington loses a sack at 3rdQ,1:30*, which is the sack this article was about.

So ARI DEF evens out.

*i said "2 minutes earlier" before because I can't count and am dumb.

If you play in a fantasy league where the QB does not get -1 point per sack, then you deserve to lose.

That's the way it should be.

Related to the article, back in the olden days when we had to manually figure out points for FF, we just said "Scores will be determined Tuesday morning based on nfl.com's box score." If there were any corrections on Wednesday, Thursday, etc, tough shiat. If nfl.com had a defense allowing 301-yards and espn and yahoo had them allowing 299, you got the 301 yard points. Period.

I was looking within my league page. I guess it doesn't show up in the corrections list because there was actually no change in points.

I had a feeling he was going to pull a Favre and have the game of his life, after I already left for the game and benched him. Wouldn't have mattered, my ideal lineup would have still got smeared by Mikel LeShoure or whatever his name is.

I'm at a loss as to how that wasn't a sack, but uh, okay, NFL.

2012-09-29 12:35:19 AM
I'm in the opposite boat as most of you. I change my lineup 6-7 times during the week based on matchups I research and gut feelings I had. He was in my flex because my RBs are weak, but during the Balt/Cleve game, I wanted to replace Torrey Smith about 30 seconds into the game. I was brain farting that he was playing. Forgetting he was now locked, I braced for impact.

My opponent voiced his displeasure when I told him about it after the game.

/up 22 points already and it aint even Sunday.

How's this line up for you... P. Manning, Gore, McCoy, Welker, S. Johnson, G. Jennings, R. Gronk, Gostkowski, and Jets D. with Big Ben, Ben Tate, N. Burleson, S. Holmes, and Celek on the bench. 12 man league picking from the 4th spot
