Looking at their schedule & performance so far, I'm thinking any scenario getting Cleveland to 3 wins would require multiple team plane crashes.

I could see them beating KC and Indy without suspending disbelief TOO much. And possibly WSH or Oakland. And division games are something of a tossup, even when the Browns are involved.

There's enough variability in each game that even the worst teams can get things to bounce their way 1-3 times a year. Look at the Colts last year.

If I can be honest, what Browns fans probably should be pulling for is an 0-16 season, followed by trading the #1 overall pick for a slew of other high draft picks to whatever team is the most desperate for whomever the "can't miss" future-HOF-quarterback is next spring. But, if I'm being honest then I have to admit that most Browns fans would recognize that the team would likely keep that pick and use it on a one-legged punter.

/And not one of those cool, runs-around-on-a-high-tech-blade kind of one-legged punters, either.

They don't play Miami, so I'll agree that Cleveland's chances of losing that one diminish somewhat. ;p

This morning an Eagles fan told me that the only reason my Cards won Sunday was because of the refs.

Seriously. He said they lost 27-6 because of the refs.

Hopefully now people will see us win because we actually deserved to win.

Well, except for the Pats game, where we got an assist from the Troll gods.

FYI, our (Baltimore's) defense this season: 28th vs. the pass, 18th vs. the run, 27th overall, and 15th in points allowed. We'll win, but if I were a betting man I'd take the over (44).

Eagles are better by 1 point, and the Bengals by 7. I would say the over's still a good bet.

Traded Newton & Torrey Smith for RG3 & AJ Green.
Have Trent Richardson & Pitta. Thinking of maybe playing Richardson (also starting Leshoure & Morris. Have F. Jackson, Andre brown, & Turner on bench). At TE I also have Gates & M. bennett. Any reason to go with Pitta over those to or any of the other backs over Richardson?

2012-09-27 06:45:55 PM

After going 10-6* last week, I'm sitting at 29-18 for the season. But, much like every team in the league that's not either the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, or Atlanta Falcons, all my excuses just went the way of the replacement refs. Kicking things off with Cleveland at Baltimore should help get things off on the right track towards a 12-4 week, at the least.

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens:
Aside from the fact that I am indeed a Ravens fan, let's look at the rationale for this pick: Baltimore has not lost at home since week 13 of the 2010 season. Cleveland has not won on the road since week 2 of the 2011 season. The Ravens are a near-unanimous Super Bowl contender. The Browns are near-unanimous as the worst team in the league. Joe Flacco & Co. are 3rd in the league in passing...the Browns' defense is 27th against the pass. And of course Baltimore has won the last 8 times these two teams have faced off. A suddenly suspect Ravens' defense prevents a complete blowout, but the Ravens still win, and win big: Baltimore 38, Cleveland 20

Oh, and...

Ya, but Helu is out and Morris is a good Flex option especially with RG3. Gates hasn't done anything this year so I can't really consider him over bennett or Pitta who have both been scoring and getting 10+ pts a week. I guess the only real debate is Richardson or Turner. The only problem with Turner is that ATL has been throwing all game.

Couple things I don't like about the Ravens tonight.

-Avg a game every 4.5 days over past 18 days.
-big emotional game by Smith that was half in part to how bad McCourty is & how bad refs were
-seems like a good time for a weird upset

Verdict: not betting this game

I just have the under, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Browns keep it within 10. Got -13.5 from an opening line in my pool, but seeing shops with -11 now. Still wouldn't put any money on a sports team from Cleveland.

Brandon Weeden achieves temporary Joe Montana status by guzzling three gallons of Butters' Creamy Gooey Friendship Filling at the half and out duels Flacco in the second, overcoming a 20 point deficit to take it into quintuple overtime.

After four and a half hours, the only players left who haven't collapsed of exhaustion are Ray Rice and Trent Richardson, who break dance to determine the winner.

Let me know if you want Roger G's desk phone number I have it!!!

/Yes I called Tuesday morning at 2am and gave him some k-rap.

They did a bit ago. I doubt he cares though, It's minimal impact on the league. Caused women to talk about the NFL and didn't really create enough negative interest to turn off fans.

Which is why he caved to the Officials? Within 2 days?!

/i am aware that they reached an equal compromise
//still 4 years of pensions for the current refs

F*cking refs must have been drunk when they allowed that opening to go unflagged.

He? You mean the owners

2012-09-27 08:28:41 PM
A guy at work tried to bet me the Ravens win 27-0.

I took his bet.

Josh Cribbs plus a good coverage team equals points. Or a pick 6.

But, Flacco is actually figuring out how to play quarterback this year and ...ya know, THROW the ball. I'd say more like 35 or 42 to about 10, maybe 13.

After Monday night's fiasco? With his desk phone full of hate voice mail and those who had his cell # yes, I think it DID impact the negotiations. I wonder how many owners called him after that game game and told him the integrity of the NFL is now on the line.

And then to NOT OVERTURN it after the league reviewed it! Roger's ARSE was about to be fired.

Part of the new refs deal... Hochuli is getting a bit old, and insists they shoot him with soft focus and Vaseline smeared on the camera, like Bette Davis, or Marg Helgenberger on CSI, so he still looks young and spry.

He's just stunned.

Right?

not correct. he established control and had already made a move 'common to the game.' He is an active runner at that point. Just like a QB who crosses the LOS.

They cut the replays off before this point, (nice grab) but if you can find access to a full replay of the entire play, every player anywhere near Cribbs stopped immediately and backed away when they realized his helmet was off & he was out.

No, wait, never mind. From what I can find on the rules, the play only dies when the ball carrier loses his helmet. If he fumbled, he wasn't the ball carrier, ergo play stays alive.

They do it's just where they are located is the issue. The NFLPA wants them on the sidelines to keep coaches from telling players to go in. The NFL wants them upstairs and they go down to the locker rooms when a player goes back. Cribbs went back, he'll be in a dark room relaxing the rest of the evening.
