Bruxellensis: Taste, like most chemical reactions, increases with temperature. Don't like the taste of that beer too much? Drink it cold (think: as cold as the rockies...). If I want a frigidly cold beverage, I get pop or lemonade with ice and/or in a cold glass. If I want to enjoy a good beer, I drink it at the proper temperature. But, hey, to each his own, eh? I won't tell you how to enjoy your beer, but I can ask you to just try it at the proper temperature just once? If you don't like it, go back to the way you were drinking it before. Deal?

For me, it depends on what I'm drinking. If it's a hot day and I'm at a ballgame, I want a damn-near frozen Miller Lite. If I'm eating some tasty curry watching soccer, I want a good, dark beer served around 45 degrees. Warmer American-style lagers aren't as good as icy cold ones; icy cold IPAs or brown ales aren't as good as cool ones.

meanmutton: This would be like an NFL team's running back partying in Manhattan all night the evening before an afternoon playoff game, quite a bit worse than just dress code.

Yes, but some players are legendary for their night-before exploits.

redmid17: ArkAngel: thomps: actually a lot of really decent beers are coming in cans now.

ArkAngel: When you're paid a lot of money to play a game, follow the team rules closely.

/killed a fifth of vodka on the bus from Kenosha to Milwaukee last Friday
//worked 10 shifts in 8 days including a third followed by a first that day
///farking earned it

you certainly did earn the right to vomit in a bus toilet.

would take a lot more than just a fifth to make me hurl

Not that I disagree but isn't the ride from Kenosha to Milwaukee like 30 minutes?

On this bus, it's about 90. Goes by the lake the entire way through Kenosha and Racine, detours to the airport when we hit Milwaukee County, then makes the final stop at Milwaukee Intermodal Station at 8th and St. Paul

Exactly. Miller lite is amongst the bland, unbalanced light lagers that are most often drank cold because of said traits. They are more like carbonated refreshing alcoholic beverages than beer; that's what they are marketed as, and that's what they're consumed as. If they had flavor, like a Brown Ale, IPA, etc., then you drink it warmer in order to get the full flavor spectrum and enjoy what the brewer put in there. Like I said before, don't like the taste of your beer? Drink it ice cold.
