Already Disturbed: Whoa, he was off key then, too?

Apparently, they were touring a lot back then and it tore his voice up pretty bad. Keep a crazy tour schedule with a vocal technique that's not exactly good for your cords and that'll add up pretty quickly. Additionally, I didn't see any monitors in front of him, which can make it really, really hard on stage to hear yourself and correct pitching problems.

Or did you expect a musician's educated response? :P

This. His voice was simply tour-trashed at that point. Quite possibly the poorest choices of MeatLoaf videos that could have been made.

I'm wondering if I'm misremembering something. Did Carla DeVito (Meat's female partner in this video) shoot a couple of pirate-themed commercials for 7 Up during the early 80s?

I tell ya, even though his voice was trashed I STILL prefer this video to the "official" one, it has more feeling and more of a live feel as well.. and was actually believable.. GREAT choice subby... Happy Birthday Meat!!

^^ all of the above

The Guess Who did what they did before the days of CanCon, which makes it all the more awesome

Here is what appears to be a soundboard from the same year - he voice definitely sounds better although Meat's always been more power over technique.

/I wonder how much Karla got paid to put up with Meat grabbing her ass and sticking his tongue in her mouth night after night

I've seen Meat Loaf four times between 1994 and 2010. The man still puts on a hell of a show!

Paradise by the Dashboard Light is fun on Rock band 3.

Oh and "Bat out of Hell II" was my favorite album for YEARS.

The pig won.

I don't know. But Ellen Foley (who sang the "Dashboard" duet on the album) played the original prosecutor on the first season of Night Court.

Also... I'd go with Randy B on the whole birthday thing. But it's a close call.

Btw, this video (PAradise by the Dashboard lights) was the VERY first rock video I ever saw. I saw this live when I was just a kid. I didn't understand how damn sexy it was, but man did I love the beat. I was 9.

I started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave
that I would love you to the end of time

so now I'm waiting for the end of time
to hurry up and arrive
'cuz if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive

I'll never break my promise
or or forget my vow
but God only knows
what I could do right now

Love those farking lyrics! One of my faves! Happy Birthday, Mr. Loaf!

//yeah, his voice was a bit trashed that day

I might be mis-remembering again in my old age...
I thought Miss DeVito was one of the first 'upskirts' I saw when Playboy ran such in things years ago.
GIS sussed out nothing, may have been another singer of the era.

/She always had that '70s porn look about her.
// Still looks like an aging porn star

Meat Loaf wins on the basis of having Scott Ian as his son-in law.
