SmackLT: We'll see. I expect Obama to take Ohio based on current polls, but polls change. There is still time for Obama to stumble or something to come in from left field that Obama has to deal with. Romney might do exceptionally well in his debate and swing some of the independent voters. The economy could stall, or Israel could launch an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, or there might be a terrorist action that has an impact on the conversation about the office of the president and his actions in response to specific issues/incidents. It's bad for anybody to presume that this election is already done and sealed. A lot of things can happen in the last few weeks before people head to the voting booths. The polls just tell us what would happen if the election were held today.
Brick-House: You're going down.
mrshowrules: Romney has sliding in the polls because he's been acting like a buffoon. China foreclosing on US debt, a Russian invasion and/or the first contact with an alien civilization won't garner Romney any additional credibility as a potential POTUS.
Chariset: I wonder if it's too late for Ryan to get out.
Rev. Skarekroe: As a wise man once said, "Don't get cocky."[stefanbc.files.wordpress.com image 500x282]
Notabunny: A few years ago California had a ballot measure to increase taxes on cigarettes by something like a dollar per pack. I was a very popular idea, and the polls showed that it was sure to win. Until a metric assload of advertising in the last 3 weeks before the election changed everything and the measure lost. Just sayin'.
James F. Campbell: FTA: At one point, Romney simply paused for almost a minute, basking in the glow of an adoring audience that wildly cheered the candidate throughout his 20-minute speech here.o_o
LessO2: Sm3agol85: Ummm, easy, call him out on it. I highly doubt Romney will repeatedly contradict himself on live tv in front of billions. I don't like him at all, but I'm sure he'll be more prepared than that. I think the actual outcome will be he just says almost nothing substantial... nothing but vagueness and feel good statements, and escapes the debates with a indecisive loss that he'll claim as a resounding victory. At this point, all Obama has to do during the debates is not fart or belch and he'll do fine, just let The Mitt Show do his thing. And even if Obama ripped a couple out, not so sure it's a bad thing anyway.
DeaH: The Toledo area is one of the most consistently liberal areas of Ohio. The crowd of 3000 he spoke before are Republican True Believers who feel isolare. It's not surprising they would cheer Mitt. He's got all the raw sex appeal of Pat Boone.
Dinki: "Polls go up, polls go down," Romney told ABC. "You can't explain that"
crab66: I think the comments on Yahoo news may be some of the worst on the internet.
Citrate1007: At this point I think the Republican leadership honestly knew none of the primary candidates had a chance.....they were looking to groom Ryan for the spot in 2016.

China foreclosing on US debt, a Russian invasion and/or the first contact with an alien civilization won't garner Romney any additional credibility as a potential POTUS.You call him a buffoon, and that's your opinion on the man, but you're assuming that everybody else sees him through the same prism, and a lot of them don't. The message that they hear (and believe) is that he's a successful businessman and his business experience resonates with them during a bad economy. That a country cannot be governed identically to the way a business is run doesn't strike them. And I think it's naive to believe that it is impossible for anything to change public opinion between now and then. The electorate can be a fickle bunch and it's unwise to give them more credit than they deserve.

1stgenwhtrash: BeesNuts: 1stgenwhtrash: [northcantonstem.org image 392x67]o, hai thereAmazingly, the latest derp I'm seeing is that SOROS owns the company that Obama is outsourcing the ballot-counting to.Someone deserves to be punched in the dick over that one.You mean this derp? Snopes LinkIn the interest of fairness I searched for the Snopes article debunking the Diebold conspiracy theory and couldn't find it. Can anyone link that for me?
skykid: 1stgenwhtrash: [northcantonstem.org image 392x67]o, hai thereOh fark that shiat I heard the same Lib Concern Trolling in '08 and guess what Obama still stomped McCain and won Ohio. That Diebold crap only works if the election is close in '00 and '04 which is highly unlikely it's going to happen.
LordJiro: twat_waffle: Can we please just have Republicanism listed in the DSM-V as a psychotic disorder?Isn't psychopathy already in there?
mrshowrules: He was seen as a successful and intelligent business man in the Spring by most Americans. He was seen as a successful and greedy business man over the summer. He is now seen as a politically clumsy businessman who doesn't really care about all Americans today.Sure it is my opinion but Republicans themselves start saying things like "Sweet Jesus" and his own campaign say that he "misspoke" or "spoke inelegantly". Let's just say my opinion that he is currently acting like a buffoon is shared by a growing number of people and can be supported by citations.
SmackLT: He's not doing well, but I stand by my assertion that a lot of moderate voters that I know aren't seeing him that way. Believe me, I'm not defending him. The only challenger that interested me at all was Jon Huntsman, and he didn't last long in the primary race. What I'm saying is that I know a lot of people looking at a crappy economy and believing that if Obama didn't specifically cause it, he didn't do enough to turn things around quickly. Hopefully, Obama gets a second term and the economy improves noticeably to a broader group of moderates, and his policies get proper credit.
Old enough to know better: I suppose I could see not voting for Obama because he hasn't done enough to turn things around. But has Mittens said ANYTHING at all to give the impression that he'd do any better? Hell, he doesn't even have charisma to fall back on.
