The 1927 Yankees never hit more than 5 home runs in a single game, but yeah.

/Go O's!

14 teams have more home runs this season than the 27 yankees had.

Heck of a month for Machado so far.

Hope he keeps it up.

I can only hope the Jays maintain this level of weaksauce against the Yankees.

The Mariners could hit 7 home runs in one game and still lose 3-1. Don't ask me how.

I am a die hard jays fan, but I want the O's totake the division so bad, I wanted the jays to lose these games.

Now, the Jays need to sweep the yanks for the O's to have shot.

Go Jays/O's!

I don't follow this logic.

Me too. I'd love for them to take 2 out of 4 from the Yanks.

7 HR's and it did them absolutely no good. They're still a game and a half back.

Know what happens statistically in a game following a huge (10+ run) game? The team that scored the outburst is held to 2 runs or less 85% of the time.

/GO YANKS

Morrow, some guy named Jenkins, some other guy with the initials of tba, and Hendy are our starters for the series with the Yanks. Yeah, Birdland is kind of farked.

/go jays. please finish better than the sawx

You're still 2 behind in the loss column, Baltimore. Also, you play the team that you knocked out last year, and a team that still has an outside shot at making the playoffs. Both will be out for blood.

Good luck. Jeffrey Maier sends his regards.

But it was against the 2012 Blue Jays, so it automatically doesn't count.

/Seriously, we're barely a team

No worries.. In keeping with their propensity to do everything else bass-ackwards, the 2012 Orioles have been held to 2 runs or less 13% of the time.

7 Home runs?

Try 10 in one game.

That's what the Jays did to Baltimore last year, if I remember correctly.

For true degree of difficulty just try to match the '86 Orioles, who managed to hit two grand slams in the same inning and still lost the game.

If there's one thing that being an Orioles fan over the decades has taught me, it's how to grasp at subtle distinctions. ;)

Just looked it up, and apparently it was in 1987, not last year.

/though I wouldn't blame you if you thought it happened in 2010

So tonight the O's follow it up by hitting two in the first inning. 6-1 Orioles, in the 2nd.
