I used my #1 waiver to pick up Ryan Williams. Considering my RBs were, Reggie Bush, Kevin Smith, and Jonathan Stewart, I'd say it was deserved.

I'm pretty sure Mrs. Wells already knows about her son's turf toe.

He wouldn't go in the first in a 20-team league

Aaron Hernandez already screwed that pooch.

Dude WTF did you do an upside down draft? If so, decent upside down, but SHIAT.

I was in a 12 team league with my friends who apparently knew what the fark they were doing. I somehow lucked out getting Doug Martin and Willis McGahee for my starters but the rest of my running backs have changed every waiver. Luckily I drafted Williams late (he was literally the only potential starter and even backup not already taken) and held him because I'm a fan of the NFC West and knew that Wis hated Wells.

Also, no one farking picked Beanie in the first round, no way.

I think if you used that pick on that guy, you might be used to bad news in your life, so.... no biggie.

Wait, I thought that read Bonzi Wells for a second.

My 14th pick of the draft! Now I just wish I new which Giant is the starter because I have both aaaand MJD

I grabbed him as the last pick in the 7th round (12 team league). I wouldn't be surprised if someone out there picked him in the first round. Would have been a much smarter pick than Tebow going #1 overall, and you just know that happened more than once. Jordy Nelson (3rd round) has been mildly disappointing, but my only other bust was Felix Jones in round 12 which is pretty close to garbage rounds anway, especially with 12 teams. Yet I'm 0-3 going against a 3-0 this week. Of course I could be 3-0 myself if I'd started/benched better (common story I'm sure).

I remember back a few years ago, during a real life draft, some "expert" (no idea who, ai think it was someone at SI.com) chided the Eagles for taking LeSean McCoy over Beanie Wells.

Wonder how they feel about that now?

That's why televising/analyzing drafts is stupid. You never know who's going to be a bust or who's going to be amazing.

/fark you very much Ron Dayne.

I have him on my bench and have not once considered putting him in. That being said, I was offered Ahmad Bradshaw one-for-one for Wes Welker, Brandon Marshall, or Brandon Lloyd in a PPR league. Now, down the road, I may regret not making a trade, but after I said no, the guy tried to convince me by saying, "You know Beanie Wells just went on IR." The only less convincing argument I can think of would have been if he called me an asshole for not doing the trade.

roc6783: Brandon Marshall

I don't know about that one. Ahmad has had nothing but injury troubles and now Andre Brown is debatable for starter. Marshall could definitely find a rhythm with Cutler any game now. The Bears offense is just like the Packers now; both are out of sync and we know each one can perform. Definitely a douche move on his part, and Ryan Williams has not been able to hold onto the ball on the ratard mendenhall level.

I have bad news if you picked Beanie Wells in the first round: you are a moron and you will lose money playing FF.

Um. Da bears might actually put some points up and Marshall will be at the front of the effort, BUT cutler still sucks and the bears will lose many many games anyways.

The guy who told you that you should trade ahmad because... WILLIAMS was a douche for pointing out that williams will be starter. Cards' offense sucks as a whole, and the guy drops the ball like its a hot potato.

Sorry for confusing speak. Hope that clears it up. The ball will be placed on the twenty. First down.

Beanie was my "Mr. Irrelevant" draft pick last year. His best games were when he was listed as questionable right up until game time...which was usually a 4:00 p.m. EST start.

What idiot used a first round pick on Wells? I used mine on Rodgers and let me tell you. That is paying dividends.

Needed ten points on monday night to win. He got me 10.25. What the hell is going on with that offense?

They played the 49ers, Bears (sans Jennings), and Seahawks. I'm not sure people need to start hitting the panic button unless they put up similar numbers against the Saints and Colts in the next two weeks.

Its a great time to trade low for him. Idiots will be idiots.

I like that the Seahawks have a "one TD drive per QB" policy this season.

I don't like that the Cardinals got around it by playing two of them. :/

Yeah, because my pick at 8, for Chris Johnson is soooooooo much better!!!!

2012-09-27 11:39:57 AM
Person in my league who took Chris Johnson with the 4th pick might want him some Beanie Wells right about now, at least Beanie has an excuse.

bones64: Yeah, because my pick at 8, for Chris Johnson is soooooooo much better!!!!

Someone in my standard Yahoo league autodrafted and ended up with 4 QBs, 2 defenses and 2 kickers. They made one trade for a mid-tier WR and pulled everyone else off the scrap heap, which with an 8 team league, is admittedly deep. They are 2-1, I am 0-3. I have Chris Johnson, they do not.

///I have not lost by more than 7 points. CJ has not come within 7 of projection yet.

Was Beanie Wells overused in college? I didn't watch a ton of OSU games, but he seemed like he had the size and speed to be a much better back than he's proven to be in the NFL

The problem imo is his running style. Very similar to Adrian Petersen in that he wants to run you over using his shoulders for the hit. College teams play a maximum of 12 or so games, and at least two of those are cupcake teams. NFL you have to play 16 against freaks who weigh 300+ lbs and run a 4.6 second 40. You're bound to get hit a lot more using this style, and whereas other backs are brought down while trying to turn a corner this style of back has a square hit placed on them on every touch. They're just not built to last.

This is my first year playing in a 12 team league. I didn't realize how easily you can end up screwed with literally nobody left on the waivers. I might go back to 8 teams next year, although this does add a bit more, uh, strategy I guess. Gotta be a better word there.

I am in two 8 team leagues. The one where I have CJ is a couples league that the lowest scoring couple has to make dinner for everyone else so my Give A Crap meter is pretty low. Having done 10 team public leagues once or twice before joining my friend's paid league last year, I cannot imagine going back. The quality drop-off from Round 1 to 2 in the draft is so huge, I just don't see how it would be fun if at some point you were seriously considering starting Beanie Wells as your RB2 without being forced to by an injury or bye week.

my 2 first rounders in my 2 leagues were ray rice (1st pick) and scam newton (10th). I'm kinda worries about Cam. As far as RBs go I had fred jackson in both leagues as a starter. That really shiat all over my teams. So far I'm 1-5 over all. I lost 1 game by a .5 stat correction...sigh

He couldn't be overused in college. He was riding the bench with injuries too often.

Williams, I mean.

2012-09-27 05:07:09 PM
Drew Breed was my keeper and my first round pick was Sproles. (PPR and I was picking 12th) Got Beanie with my 5th rounder but dropped him to pick up Kyle Rudolph for week 3. Very happy.

Does this seem crazy? I may trade Rivers and D Martin for Cruz and R Wilson. I have RG3 so Rivers is my backup anyways and my other running backs are Rice, AP, A Morris, and Leshoure so I feel Martin may be expendable

Do it. Don't even think about how one sided it is for you. Cruz with those RBs is pretty beast and Rivers is not performing and probably won't get any better.

2012-09-27 06:29:52 PM
Traded Cam Newton & Torrey Smith for AJ Green & RG3 this week. Some guy in the league was giving me shiat, "Haha, you traded your first pick!" Hey man, you don't win games based on where guys were drafted.
