It will be interesting to see how Romney handles losing on Election Night. Mostly likely he'll act like a perfect gentleman, but I give maybe a 25% chance that he'll flip his shiat because the American people are obviously stupid. It's too bad he doesn't drink - you could have some spectacular fireworks.

intelligent comment below: Lord_Baull: 3 years folks. The GOP had 3 years to find someone to easily tear away Obama's socialist stranglehold on America.

Allan West said they were all Communists. But now it's back to Socialism? Dammit I'm so confused.

Well, he's also a non-practicing Muslim extremist that spent 20 years in an America-hating Christian church.

Nadie_AZ: BunkyBrewman: How the fark can I guy who has this much farking money be so farking insecure?

How does money equate to self esteem?

Reason: He's chasing his dad's ghost.

The wealthiest man I've ever known (former boss who was a DuPont exec, bought their lab equipment line and their customer base and ran with it, worth at least double digit millions) was a brilliant man, but oddly lacking in common sense and street wisdom. He also wore a terrible toupee...just awful. On windy days you could see his panic if a gust caught it. At a BBQ at his home, his young son tried to snatch it off, and we all looked away to observe the lovely birdfeeders and plants on his deck, la de dah, anything to NOT see it happen. This brilliant, wealthy man's Achille's Heel was his hair and it confounded me. Shave that head, OWN that bald head! Last I heard he is still wearing the Hell Toupee. Makes no sense. He is still doing well, but I'm sure people look him right in the hair when they first meet him. It is that bad.

I do not say this to mock him, but more in the WTF sense. He was brimming in the best kind of self confidence and business acumen, but the first impression is "Whoa. That is a bad rug.". He can afford The Hair Club.

I guess the wealthy have their share of nonsensical phobias. It works for KJ but not sure if that kind of vaanity/insecurity is a quality I want in my CinC.

Bully? Check.
Insecure? Check.
Needs to prove himself because his Daddy was a big deal? Check.

There is no 'there' there. Lacks empathy, charisma, ability to connect with 'normal' people. Views himself as above the rest. Is that the definition for sociopath? Yet, he is so desperate for redemption, he's been dreaming about this for decades I'm sure. This guy is truly the biggest political SAD SACK in my lifetime. Wow.

Considering that Willard just told middle-class Ohioans not to expect any help from him, this has now surpassed the incompetence of Giuliani's 2008 run.

Somacandra: Actually, that position is already officially taken according to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love that people are very quick to ridicule LDS temple garments, when they probably wouldn't make fun of Jews wearing the tallit katan or Sikhs for wearing the kachh, or even Muslims wearing the ihram during the Hajj. But people seem creepily obsessed with Mormons and their undergarments for some reason.

Todays reboot has him telling everybody he loves them. 100% everybody. He loves everyone so much that he gave health insurance to everyone in his state. Also Obama is assasinating his character. I need someone to 'jib-jab" his head onto Barney's body and have him singing "I love you, you love me". Also need his head on Rodney Kings body hollaring "can't we all just get along".

mrshowrules: My advice to Romney would be to hide until the debate. Right now he is just giving Obama a boatload of things to use against him. Notice how Obama has been relatively quiet lately?

*my* advice to Romney is to try to get as much money that he can keep because it's over for him. He's not going to win and he needs to make some (more) money from this whole debacle.

Also, I'm tickled that Ryan hitched his wagon to this POS and his career (hopefully) is over.

Eddie Adams from Torrance: I can deal with Mitt's awkwardness and the fact that he grew up in a bubble making it impossible to relate to the 99.999999999%

What strikes me most is that he doesn't seem to be terribly bright. We all cringed when John Kerry came on stage in '04, but at least it seemed that he was intelligent and self-aware enough to realize it. Mitt seems like he thinks he's killing it every time. I can just imagine the huddle up after these events... all of the sycophants telling him "Great job Mitt!!" and Mitt smiling and saying "I know!"

I used to really dislike Romney. Now I just feel sorry for him.

Despite all his money, prestige and power, he can't buy the Presidency, his running mate is an asshole, he's married to a Stepford Wife, lives in a sheltered reality, and can't escape his father's shadow.

Plus he has to wear that stupid magic underwear and can't enjoy a rum and coke.

Such a damn shame.

Mrembo: Greil: NeoCortex42: Mrembo: I don't think anyone else would have got through. The "powers-that-be" understand that they have created an echo chamber and knew the rest of the field was unpalatable to anyone with two brain cells.

Anybody more electable than Romney was probably kept out of the race so they would have a shot in 2016. The GOP has built up way too much ill will in the general public over the past four years. Their best hope is to either shape up over the next four, or at least hope that they are up against someone less charismatic than Obama next time.

Johnson, Huntsman, Perry, and RON PAUL were all still more electable than this guy, even with that idea. IDK, I just don't understand how it came back to Mr. Romney, even if they DID want to throw the election. If that was the case, go for broke and run Gingrich/Bachmann or something, then don't waste too much money nationally and show too much abuse from CU until the decision's had a few years to set.

/wait, I found my problem
//I'm trying to use logic again
///I'l leave that for the slashies next time

If they went Gingrich / Bachman, they ran the risk of losing the moderates. As for Huntsman, half the time he seemed to be questioning what the heck he was doing on a stage filled with clowns.

nobody decided anything. romney won because he had the most money, and the mouth breathers actually do respond to TV ads.
