That is hilarious. Romney drawing attention to the fact that the audience is only cheering for Ryan.

Greenlight this please. Oh, lord, I may go into a schadenfreude-induced coma before this campaign's dry, withered husk finally falls apart.

Wait a second, wait a second... Allow me to inject some good ole fashioned Mormon charisma here...

/ What takes this even more over the top is that he is wearing his magic underpants for this rally and thinks he will be the God of the planet Earth.

see, Romney is a great candidate. He brings out the religion in people. as soon as votes see him, they stay things like "Oh sweet Jesus!" and they are praying the Hail Mary. what a guy!

My advice to Romney would be to hide until the debate. Right now he is just giving Obama a boatload of things to use against him. Notice how Obama has been relatively quiet lately?

Mitt Romney made a mistake when he decided to make Charisma his drop stat.

He is the living embodiment of the difference between charisma and comeliness: good looking guy, looks presidential, and has a comeliness probably around 15, but with a charisma of 5 or 6.

You libtards are in for a big surprise. This is all part of Romney's cunning plan to set the expectations for the debate so low that when he doesn't accidentally swallow his own tongue and suffocate onstage, he'll be roundly declared the winner. I think it's pretty clear that the reason we haven't heard from Fartbongo recently is that he's terrified by this strong conservative man.

I read last week that the campaign was going the "All Mitt, All the Time!" route because he keeps coming off as not being relatable. I still crack up every time I think of that. "Hey, guys--whenever we trot out Mitt, he says something stupid. What should we do?"

"MOAR MITT!"

2012-09-26 04:54:17 PM
...ooooh, we're in trouble if he somehow wins.

Can't you just imagine him blundering his way through the powder-keg that is international relations right now?

"No no no... not Allahu Ackbar. Allahu Romney! Say it with me! Allahu Romney!"

Because he has so much money, when someone who doesn't have as much is getting more praise than he is, it confuses and angers him.

So the highlight of the Romney campaign to date has been circling Obama campaign rallies with the Romney bus and honking the horn?

I can deal with Mitt's awkwardness and the fact that he grew up in a bubble making it impossible to relate to the 99.999999999%

What strikes me most is that he doesn't seem to be terribly bright. We all cringed when John Kerry came on stage in '04, but at least it seemed that he was intelligent and self-aware enough to realize it. Mitt seems like he thinks he's killing it every time. I can just imagine the huddle up after these events... all of the sycophants telling him "Great job Mitt!!" and Mitt smiling and saying "I know!"

We all know Romney is going to lose. But what will really make my evening is if Paul Ryan loses his congressional seat too.

Do you think he'd resign his VP nod and go back to running for his House seat in order to save it?

Or wait and go Full Senate in a few years?

It isn't.

[Author's note: Jonathan Swift did not really want Irish people to sell their children for food in 1729; George Orwell did not really want the clocks to strike thirteen in 1984; Paul Ryan, I am sure, calls Mitt Romney something more dignified than "Stench" and Microsoft did not invent PowerPoint as a means to euthanize cattle. At least I am pretty sure Microsoft didn't.]

Though he waited an awful long time to post that update.

Yup. Proof positive? Notice how hard Dinesh D'Souza and other asstards on the right are pushing the idea that Obama is somehow desperately trying to validate himself to his absentee, anti-colonialist father? Total projection.

Right now, it looks like his House seat is actually more contested than it has been in the past. Rob Zerban is running a pretty aggressive campaign against him. Not sure how it'll play out, but it looks like for the first time, people are actually more aware of Ryan's policies, other than being able to ride it out on being the incumbent who brings that sweet Federal pork back home to his district. So, it's up for grabs.
But, should he lose the VP slot (which looks likely at this point) whether he retains his House seat or not, I'd look for I'm to run for the Senate as soon as he can. Problem is, does he want to run against teabagger Ron Johnson or try to run against whoever wins the Thompson/Baldwin race (Baldwin)?

Obama's been saying things, but he hasn't been having gaffe after gaffe and moment of truth after moment of truth like Romney has.

I guess what I meant is that what Obama is saying hasn't been Fark/CNN worthy. Romney said more stupid shiat in one month than Obama has said in his entire first term.

2012-09-26 07:14:26 PM
Still seven days between now and the start of the first (only?) debate, so I expect at least 3 Romney gaffes between now and then, possibly as many as six.

Note - gaffes that happened before this comment is posted, such as "Obama didn't raise taxes" and "hey, guys, don't just chant 'Ryan, Ryan,' I'm here too!" don't count; and neither do any gaffes which will happen after the start of the debate, such as at least a third of whatever Mitt's gonna say.
