We absolutely did not "all" root for the Sox. We had 100+ wins for shiat's sake.

/we are over it now, though

Last year at this time baseball was still exciting in Boston. Bruins Hockey was too. And nobody knew that BU hockey players all wanted to be Ben Roethlisberger when they grew up yet. And the Patriots had a better record than Boston College. And the Celtics were feeling pretty good about their chances in the East in the upcoming season and looking forward to returning to the Finals. And everybody pointed and laughed at Orioles and Ravens fans instead of vice versa . Those had to be good times in Boston man. Good times.

what song is that?

SlothB77: what song is that?

"Try to Remember", from the Fantastiks.

It gets stuck in my head every time I've come to the Sports tab today, meaning I'm trying to avoid the Sports tab today.

The "try to remember the kind of September" half is but then subby lost the plot and the entire meter of the song in the second half of the headline. Near as I can tell the "when we could hit and never lose" bit is straight from Mary Hopkins "those were the days" song with the line " we'd fight and never lose".

I was trying to put it to "Remember remember the 5th of November" but couldn't make it work.

Seriously, if you can't match the meter of the song, why bother?

0/10

"When we could hit, and not lose ballgames" would have worked well...

I bet Red Sox fans wish their management did what the Braves did and execute almost zero off-season moves following a catastrophic collapse at the end of the 2011 season. To this day I don't understand why Boston got rid of Francona.
