Wow. I thought I'd be the only one whose mind went there first...

/Prefer the new vocal version on Whole Story... more mature artist with more control

1st thing I thought of too. And I'm and American! I prefer the original version because she sounds like the young girl that she was and that fits the subject matter of the song better for me.

Ever heard it covered by a male singer, trying to stay in the same range?

As long as they don't cut the helicopter chase, I'm in.

Never understood the appeal of Wuthering Heights. Heathcliff is a dick, Catherine a whiny coward. There isn't single likeable character in the book. I felt the it would have been greatly improved by a nuclear strike.

I agree completely.

Didn't stop me from watching the BBC version with Tom Hardy though.

I came *thisclose* in bypassing it, and it was assigned in the last month of the last semester of the last English class I ever had to take.

Well, as many may suspect, I am in fact not a real person, but a highly sophisticated bot.

You'll probably like Pat Benatar's version then: Here you go

Might I recommend the Thursday Next series to you then? It involves policing the internal world of books which often involves hunting down Catherines that have flipped out and acquired a wide range of weapons.

I'll add my soul felt worse reading The Scarlet Letter. At least WH felt like it knew it was just an over-romanticized bit of fluff.

The only cover of Wuthering Heights that matters: UOGB for the win

Read it as a teenager and it quite shocked me. What a weird, morbid book. The atmosphere it created has never left me even though I didn't actually "like" the book as such.
