Maybe they needed to make room for the Vikings logo on the other 45 for when the roof collapses across town again...

acronym: found it:

FTFA: About 20-years ago I worked a varsity scrimmage as part of a referee crew in Summit, NJ on a football field that was under construction. There was work being done in one of the endzones and the goal post was down so consequently when there was a field goal or an extra point kick attempt, we had to switch ends of the field.

This is the University of Minnesota's field, not a practice field from New Jersey.

FTFY. Bit of a difference, though probably not much

Off hand I would guess about 30,000 students.

OK so I had to look it up out of curiosity and there are actually about 50,000 more students at U of M than U of M Crookston.

The offensive coordinator was standing outside of the little box behind third base for too long, making it a three second violation?

CSB:
Track practice at our college, the track goes around our artificial turf field with permanent yard markers.
The distance runners come in from a trail run when coach tells them to do some 60 yard sprints and then cool down, etc.
The gayest person I've ever met in my life happens to be in the group (though with distance runners gaydar is tough stuff - I think by rule they're all a little, nttawwt)
The group walks to the end zone and then begins their first sprint - leading the way is the gayest person I've ever met, and in his biatchy, effeminite, and lispy inflection he shouts out, "Now where the hell is the 60 yard line?!"
Back then we didn't know what LOL was, so I just laughed out loud.

I was pointing out the horrible grammar.

Damn replacement refs can't even get the field painted correctly

2012-09-26 01:02:39 PM
That's not an M! It's an upside-down W!

Those morons! :P

Put this paint crew on a Canadian field and they'll paint the logo on both 50 yard lines.

2012-09-26 01:31:04 PM
If they'd've taken the picture so the 50 is in it but the 40's not, we could pass it off as a CFL field...

2012-09-26 02:19:34 PM
They could add another M on the other 45 yard line.

This past summer at a soccer tournament, I saw a field that had 2 circles in the center of the field. Turns out the crew lining the field confused a circle with a 10 yd radius with a circle with a 10 yd diameter.
/ Geometry, how does it work?

I swam in college and during my junior year they built a new pool for us. It measured exactly 160' from wall to wall, too bad 50 meters is 164 feet.

Who says it has to be in the center of the field? Maybe they wanted an asymmetrical field.

Would definitely mindf*ck opponents - they should just go a little further, center it on the 40. I wonder if it would actually f*ck with players' heads when they're seemingly at midfield but still have 60 yards to go. Or when they think they're barely past midfield so they punt it through the end zone.

At least the field is green.

/I'm looking at you Boise.

I Don't see the problem.
