I don't think anyone would disagree that these schmucks had this coming.

Consumerism is funny.

It's just a farking phone.

When was the last time you walked into someone's house and said, "Oh, wow. I love your answering machine! Is that the V-Tech model 4523?" Or, "Nice microwave! Does it cook popcorn like, super fast?!"

Brilliant.

I don't see a problem with this. It's not like they are transporting a Ming vase or anything. They are iPhones. They are going to be packaged securely in their own boxes inside the brown package box. It's not like he dropped the box 5 stories.

You may not have sound turned on but they covered that by putting what sounded like a bunch of broken glass in the boxes, my first instinct would have been 'meh its all in packaging' too but the glass clattering sounds associated with the fall and picking them up sealed it.

I wonder how many of the folks who saw this said, in effect, "Screw this place; I'll buy mine from elsewhere!" thus diminishing the sales of those particular stores?

That idea is funnier than the looks on the faces of the morons waiting in line for a phone

It would have been a lot LESS funny if that hand truck had fallen on the little girl in the last scene. How hard would it have been for the dumbass to move a few feet to the left before pushing the boxes down the stairs?

I hope the breaking glass sound was added in later. That alone would be a dead give away that something other than Iphones were in the boxes.

This. A shattered iPhone screen does not make that kind of noise.

Nobody standing in line there has the mental capacity to know this.

Would be better if they had the boxes slowly start smoking and catch on fire.

"There is going to be an upgrade in a few weeks that addresses this...no problem at all..."

Stood in line like that - but, ahem, for concert tickets for Pink Floyd 's The Wall in 1979 to perform in New York. One of the rarest concerts to attend back then. BTW: Worth it (and the tickets didn't shatter when dropped from two feet.)

Maybe I'm getting old and crotchety, but I can still remember when humor was funny.

thought from the headline that he might have pretended to be some really generous Apple rep/exec who dropped off a few open boxes and told people in line to have at it. Seeing the mad stampede of early adapters getting trampled to death would have made my day

When ever I hear a woman say 'seriously' in that tone I have to take a deep breath.

Brilliant prank. Well timed and well executed.

Funny how they have that "You have desecrated the sacred idol!" look on their faces...on second thought, it's not funny - it's scary.

I don't know how awesome it is to brag about standing in a long line. I suppose the qualifier of the end result helps, but standing in lines isn't really all that special, man. Just saying.
