This is squarely the military's fault. Aren't they supposed to have a strict training/diet regimen so that even a fat recruit will become a lean soldier?

I'm pretty sure Afghanistan was legit. At least, the rest of NATO thought so without much hesitation.

Of course, with Iraq, we had evidence... the receipts.

We also had a decade's worth of both dummocrats and republitards beating away at the war drum and saying we needed to invade. All that was really needed was a couple months worth of no results in Afghanistan so the government could say "let's try somewhere else".

Well, if the military would stop changing how it measures fitness, and start caring more about whether a servicemember is combat-capable and less about how well they look in blues, we wouldn't have this problem, would we?
