They're not real fond of pyrotechnics either.

That dog should burn his house down... with lemons!

2012-09-25 07:35:06 PM
When I am feeling low I watch "babies eating lemons" videos and cheer right up.

2012-09-25 08:00:22 PM
Noted. Just don't invite said dogs to your lemon parties.

That's one derpy dog.

Lemons must be the only food that high metabolism dog doesn't like. How hard do you have to work to make a terrier like that fat?

BarkingUnicorn: Dog is fat.

Obviously, it was rescued from Alx Rose

When your idea of "walking the dog" is feeding bits of your hotel room service Fried Deluxe Plowman's Platter that it despises while you lay on your ass watching Toddlers and Tiaras?

Not very.

Most dogs are the same way. They don't like citrus.

All my dogs have always been "aggressive" with lemons/limes.

Cut a lemon in half and put it in front of your dog, it will probably act the same way.

Probably got a squirt of citrus oil from the skin in his eyes, like how you squeeze a lime peel into your martini.

Dogs have a ridiculously sensitive olfactory sense and lemons are very very pungent. The guy is essentially doing the doggie equivalent of shining a bright light into its eyes.

/not cool

Thanks for the idea!

/I live with a Jack Russell.

I'll have to try this with my JRT.

And Shiba Inus (?) hate Satan.

That was my thought too - fark people who fatten their pets. Unless you plan to eat them for dinner you should keep them healthy.

I'm not a fan of the smooth coated, short legged Jacks as they are no longer suited for the purpose the breed was developed for.

/I have a normal rough coated/normal legged Jack... and he is just plain awesome.

But they're cute and lovable. And are like a giant spring. And eat my doorframe... :/ (I got mine at the shelter. He was very calm (compared to the other dogs) until I walked over, and then he gave me sad eyes while jumping up and down, his nose above the fence in the small dog room; there was no leaving him behind after that.

And strangely, my JRT is no longer fat, only a month after becoming the only person who gives him food and walks him, with very little effort. I think he misses my mom slipping him food all the time, though. And my mom's dog finding all the food that my mom would leave lying around and then sharing it with him.

If you wanted to watch a video of a puppy vs a lemon, this one is clearly superior.

Clearly he was responding that Satan was inside him....poor old possessed dog....someone needs and exerocist for him and his clearly demented owner.

and exerocist....sorry....just the Vicodin talking!

What purpose were they developed for? Herding?

Bolting foxes from dens for hunting, if I remember correctly...

Jack russells do not like lemons. Me personally, I don't like jack russells. Or any hyperactive dog for that matter. My neighbors jack russell is so stupid that it continually runs in front of my lawn mower WHILE I AM MOWING. Im sure they were a useful breed 500 years ago, but unless there are foxes and hens in your subdivision i think you should pick a different kind.

Agreed. I love those dogs, but what a pain in the ass they are.
Unless you have a hyperactive 10 year old for it to hang out with, don't get one.

I'll give you a hint: they're often called "Rat Terriers".

I've got two sisters from the same litter. 5 pounds difference; one has a rough-coat, one smooth.
