LOL GAY BANE

Dammit. I never noticed they weren't wearing earpieces!!

I'm going to have to fanwank that Stark set something up off-screen that is extremely small. Or that's all I'm going to think about every time I see it.

Nope. That's all I'm going to think about every time I see it.

That actually was hilarious

I think they need a better voice guy, who doesn't sound like a recently pubescent high school kid trying to imitate a hardass, but other than that it's pretty spot-on about all the stuff that doesn't really make sense. Still, the voice is kind of keeping me from wanted to check out the other trailers they have.

Yeah, agreed on the Voice Over guy. Otherwise, it was funny as all Hell, and didn't leave me feeling stupid for having enjoyed the movie.,

They did point out one issue I had with the movie. Loki had already shown he knew other ways to move between worlds without the Bilfrost bridge, but how did Thor make it to Earth? I caught some passing reference to Odin but was not sure if it was related.

I think Tony Stark would prefer it be your adult self.

Hey! I've only been into comics a little over a year and even I knew it was Thanos.

*Femme Geek fist bump*

It was awesome. I've been a Marvelite since I was (now 40), and I loved it and yes, I did know who Thanos was.

I just hope they don't go down the Infinity Gauntlet route on this. Ugh.

Well, I doubt they would do the Cancerverse story unless the Guardians of the Galaxy movie is a smash hit. Infinity Gauntlet is pretty much his thing. It's like teasing Galactus and then saying "Oh, I hope the next film isn't going to be about him eating a planet."

Loki points out that Odin had to get a hold of a lot of dark magic to send him down, with only the cube being powerful enough to bring him back. That line also sets up the next Thor movie which is supposedly bringing in the dark elves.

Faint praise, without being too damning, kinda like RLM's Star Trek review

As for the earpiece criticism, I'm pretty sure Stark supplied them all with inner-ears

Just got Avengers from Netflix today and I'm not even a huge Marvel fan. The honest trailer had me giggling maniacally at the end.

Yeah, pretty much.

The worst thing for me was the Phantom Menace ending that if you take out the mothership the army just collapses.

At least in Star Wars they were robots so I guess it could kind of make sense.

But these bad guys were living, organic creatures! So why did they all just drop over?

Even if they lost communication and had no 'leadership' or reason to keep fighting, why would they just drop over dead?

I just want to say the nuke blew up the spaceship and all the aliens dropped dead because the spaceship was clearly the 'control' ship.

If you look closely at the scene where Hulk and Thor take down a giant space eel, you can see the eel crashes into a train station, and then its eyes suffers an electrical short, which tells me the remote control device died.

if you look closely, when the aliens are killed by Captain America, the lights on their armor dies out, too.

Admittedly, it's not explicitly explained in dialogue, but you can infer it from the little details.

Hulk bro fist made the movie.

I didn't see the movie, but is Captain America really that much of a dorky looking douche?

Marshall Willenholly: I didn't see the movie, but is Captain America really that much of a dorky looking douche?

He looks like a dorky douche, but you have to remember it's someone that was literally frozen for seventy years, so he's just dressing like the 1940s... in 2012. Which comes off as douche a lot. His character works well in the movie, but he's still Captain America. Some backs are meant to be that ramrod straight.

/and now I feel I must make a comment about Tony Stark totally tapping that ass

No No No you motherfarkers. The general movie going public has no clue about the Infinity Gauntlet. That's what my post was about. All you have to do to get Thanos in the new movie is to get him after the Cosmic Cube (also the tesseract), No need to add the "Captain Planet" attributes to the (7?) gems ...Too much continuity for Joe Movie Goer and his date Joanne movie date, Hell the gauntlet confuses even some of the most loyal fans.... Leave the Gauntlet out of the movies, UNLESS it ties into the Guardians movie and assuming it does well. Which I don't think it will because I am a comic nerd and I probably won't see it. Just have old Thanos come after the CUBE and moviegoers will remember enough.

2012-09-26 06:39:20 AM
So much better than the actual movie...though I disagree with one point. The LAST 45 minutes were the boring ones..

2012-09-26 06:57:30 AM
Its a movie. Its for entertainment purposes only.

2012-09-26 03:51:47 PM
Except the cube has been the focus of 3 movies now, and isn't on Earth anymore. So hopefully the next Avengers movie would be set somewhere on Earth. I think the next Avenger's movie will probably be a watered down infinity gauntlet type story. It would be good for the geek-gasm that got the first movie talked about, and it would be good for creating more comic sales.

Also, I second Dr. Strange in Thor II. There's gotta be someone in Hollywood up to the role, and he'd be a fun dude to portray.
