You could argue that Green Bay shouldn't have won the game with just 12 points.

But you would be wrong.

True, but Green Bay should have only had 9 points.

Nope because instead of going for the TD, Seattle would've kicked the field goal and one by 1.

Green Bay won the game on the field. What a joke this season is.

Also feel kinda bad (and kinda lulz) for people playing against Golden Tate in their fantasy leagues, who lost because of that call.

I had the Packers defense. That call was a 4 point swing (instead of +2 for the pick, -2 for allowing 14 points instead of 7). I won the week by 1 point, so it very, very, very easily could have killed me.

What makes you so certain that these refs know what a good field goal try looks like?

They don't need to know what one looks like. They just need to call it good...like they did for the Ravens Sunday night.

What's being lost in all the discussion of the last play of the game is the bogus roughing the passer call that negated an interception and the bogus defensive interference call that was really offensive interference.

This game wasn't decided by one bad call. It was decided by a series of bad calls.

2012-09-25 11:57:56 AM
Now I know how non Seahawks fans felt after Super Bowl XL

Yes the refs screwed up. Now quit your whining.

It's not like the Seahawks were playing football anyway. They were having a sack race.

The refs caused Rodgers to be sacked 8 times. Damn them!

Stoppit. People here still have extreme butthurt over the series of bad calls that caused the Seahawks to lose the Superbowl in 2006.
Cheatin' Steelers, etc.

Those refs treated the Seahawks like Ben Roethlisberger treats a drunk sorority girl in a dive bar bathroom.

It did surprise me, a couple years ago, when I learned that the Seahawks fans thought there was controversy about their Super Bowl loss. As a neutral fan for that game, I didn't remember anything out of the ordinary about the officiating, in fact it wasn't a very memorable Super Bowl in general. For a time I'd forgotten the Seahawks had even played in one at all.

For last night's game, pretty much anyone outside of Seattle - players, media, fans, former officials, hell even fans of the Packers' rivals Bears and Vikings - are talking about what a joke that call was. Saw some Seattle fans in the thread last night, saying it was the right call. Guess that gives some perspective to their opinions on the officiating in that Super Bowl loss.

Not that they think about that kind of stuff or anything.

What is he supposed to say? This interview was less than a minute after the touchdown right? I'm sure he wasn't aware of how controversial the call was. He was laying on his back when the pass was caught. There were plenty of calls that were terrible for both sides.

Three of which went Seattle's way on the last drive, but whatever. :)

So now that you can win by throwing interceptions, JaMarcus Russell is contemplating a comeback.

I don't see why everyone is so upset. It's the same thing that happens with affirmative action and all the libs seem ok putting up with that.

Koggie: The refs caused Rodgers to be sacked 8 times. Damn them!

This. I totally understand why Green Bay felt they were robbed of a win, but it wouldn't have come down to a final call if the Packers actually played well last night. There were plenty of botched ref calls but letting your QB get sacked eight times in one half is on you.

Affirmative action in the NFL is letting a Ryan be a coach. Drunks need jobs too.

No one's denying that the offensive line was terrible. But, that doesn't make the call any less highway robbery. They HAD scored points enough to win. They should not have lost it from that hail mary pass.

2012-09-25 12:38:33 PM
Typical farking Packers. Only score 12 points against the Seaducks and blame the loss on the refs. Meanwhile, the refs believe anything that Jim Harbaugh tells them and the Vikings still beat the 49ers. This has been one of the most enjoyable starts to an NFL season I've seen in years. Long live the replacement refs. I can't wait until Hollywood makes a movie about this.

2012-09-25 12:38:40 PM
Posted this in a different thread but worth repeating:

Lifelong Seahawk fan here.

The officiating was horrible. However the Packers have only themselves to blame for the loss.

The team put themselves in the position to let one call decide the game.

Bad calls are part of the game, deal with it.

It was week three not a Superbowl. As a Seahawk fan I have heard for years that any complaining about refs is bad form so kindly stop whining.

The best one i've seen so far:

I've seen better decisions on 16 and pregnant.

This is what a Seahawks fan will tell themselves to justify a win they didn't deserve. This was beyond a simple "bad call."

Jiro Dreams Of McRibs: Affirmative action in the NFL is letting a Ryan Norv Turner or Marty Schottenheimerbe a coach. Drunks need jobs too.

I still don't know why teams hire these perennial losers time and again, never learning from their mistakes. Do they have pictures of people with horses?

If Aaron Rodgers got seriously injured, he should have taken McCarthy to court and file a suit. The fact McCarthy waited until AFTER the half to come to the realization they had to just ride Benson and take the heat off the pass rush and tire out Seattle's front four is an abomination.

Perhaps Rodgers should've audibled into more running plays and deserves some fault himself, but that was utterly pathetic. Great play by the Hawks defense, no doubt (and I was pulling for them in this game anyway), but atrocious in-game first half "adjustments" by the Pack.

If you wouldn't have been there, you wouldn't have been raped.

Not that this is life or death, but I'm kinda sick of this excuse. Yes, If they played better, a touchdown wouldn't have mattered. But guess what? Reffball was played that night, and no one likes reffball. Except jerks. Seajerks who thinks Karma is something that happens years later to a team that had nothing to do with the original bullcrap.

I also had the Packers defense. I was winning the week by 1 point when that play happened. I lost the week and also a side bet with the other guy for a box of golf balls. I am opening the box of balls and marking each one with an asterisk.

Or having first and goal from the one, and end up having to kick a field goal. No doubt the Packers could have put the game out of reach of the officials and didn't.
But, the outcome came down to the last snap, and the Packers were the ones who made the play... and the officials gave it to Seattle. Even with instant replay. Not even angry, it's just laughable. And the NFL just released a statement more or less standing by their replacement stooges.
