CygnusDarius: keypusher: CygnusDarius: mike_d85: Everybody's a little racist

I think the term xenophobic should be more apropos, because racism applies that we are substantially different, when it's been proven with science (thank you Human Genome Project) that there is no such thing as race, just a different composition of proteins.

Call it what you want. But it exists.

What is clear, though, is that human populations are genetically different, and can be diagnosed as genetically different using multiple pieces of DNA. Thus, although you may not be able to determine the geographic origin of a single person simply by looking at her morphology, you may be able to do that pretty accurately by combining information from lots of genes.

Yes, but our differences between each of us are no more different than a Pomerian is different from a St. Bernarnd.

What most call 'race' is nothing else but a centuries-long version of dog breeding.

There's a heck of a lot of difference between a Pomeranian and a St. Bernard.

AR 15-6: Bad_Seed: Just because race is a social construct doesn't mean it's not real.

Ok, I'll bite that statement... You mean we can't explain that?

No, I mean that just because something is invented by humans doesn't mean it's not real.
